Yeah but the way the primaries and caucuses are set up he had no chance. Bloomberg already figured out the same and just went independent. The only way either of these guys gets through is as 3rd party or independent. Which early state did he stand a chance in? Iowa, yeah Rudy the farmer in an ultra-conservative state. Michigan where his get tough policies don't appease those who pander to the voters with money? Nevada where the Mormons made Romney a pretty good bet? Rudy's best shots are in all these primaries that are too late in the race. This is the horseshit system we live under, yet no one will change it because the nobodies win with it. All that money gets wasted in Iowa and New Hampshire every 4 years for no real reason.
Until we get ourselves back to a real democracy where national elections are decided nationally with no hocus pocus electoral college map and no nominating process forcing candidates to support corn and the church we will continue to see crap handed to us. We have no one to blame but ourselves. |
