Default 'Terminator 4' Details, Gets A May 2009 Release Date

'Terminator 4' Details, Gets A May 2009 Release Date:

The fourth movie in the 'Terminator' franchise has been scheduled for release on May 22, 2009, which falls on the Memorial Day holiday weekend in the US.

The sequel, which also serves as the first installment of another planned trifecta, picks up where the first trilogy leaves off as Christian Bale, playing rebel leader John Connor, leads a revolt against computer network Skynet.
The story for 'Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins' will be written by Terminator 3 writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris, and set in the postapocalyptic nightmare mentioned in earlier movies after Skynet has destroyed much of humanity.

The 'Terminator' franchise that began in 1984, cost $6 million and earned $38 million in domestically and eventually finished with $78 million worldwide. The second movie, 1991's 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day', earned more than five times that with $200 million domestically and $516 million worldwide.
The latest 2003 installment, 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', didn't do quite so well in the US earning $150 million, after costing nearly $200 million to make, however it made up for it in worldwide sales raking in $433 million. Shooting for the movie will kick off in New Mexico in May.
