I would consider that taking care of yourself instead of "girlie". A man with well kept nails is often one that pays attention to details in life.
To me, being girlie means dressing up in something more feminine than jeans and a t shirt (i.e. skirt/dressy top, dress, heels etc.), putting on makeup, spending a little extra time on the hair, carefully picking jewelry, etc etc.....
