Pirates could buy out Matt Morris
The Pirates aren’t planning to buy out struggling starter
Matt Morris just yet, but the thought has crossed the team’s mind and it’s willing to do it to any of its players, team president Frank Coonelly said. Morris has a $10,037,283 salary this year and a $1 million buyout of his 2009 option, all of it guaranteed. Of course he also has a 0-3/9.15 ERA record this year as well. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

Juan Castro is being chucked aside by the Cincinnati Reds and it appears that the Dodgers, where Castro began his life in the bigs as a shortstop prospect, have interest in grabbing him back up. Other teams are said to be interested but word is that Castro favors the Dodgers over the rest. Does this mean sayonara to L.A. backup
