Default Re: Saturday Bases...

Five plays for the night:

Atlanta -106- The Pirates are playing better of late but this is very good value on Atlanta even with their road struggles which will flatten out over time. Gozelanny has not been good at all this year walking a batter an inning and the Braves are a very deep and talented lineup. James has not been good either, but he shut down this team twice last year and he is backed by a better lineup thatn he will be facing.

Toronto +107- I still maintain that the Jays will be a good bet against LHP over time and they may bust out tonight against Laffey. McGowan has been very solid all year and even better of late with a 1.07 WHIP In his last 3 starts. I think the Jays are a bit undervalue right now because their record doesn't dicate how well they ahve been playing.

LAA/TB Over 8.5 (Even)- Saunders isn't going to keep this up because he has struck out just 23 in 48 innings and it will catch up to him at some point and the Rays are always a tough offensive team at home. Kazmir will probably be restricted pitch count wise again tonight and this Angels team has hit LHP very well at .296 on the year and they should get into the Rays bullpen early tonight which should help their total.

KC -105- I think this may be an overcorrection line on both the O's and Olson. Olson really struggled with his control last year when he came up and the Royals although are not a great offensive team are better then they have shown. Tomko is coming off his best start of the year and really outside of two starts has been solid for KC. Good value compared to the first two games of this series on the Royals tonight.

Boston -162- I think the Red Sox wlll come out and pound the Twins tonight after dropping two tough games the last two nights. Matsusaka has been tremendous thus far and has led his team to a win in all 7 of his starts. The Sox are a very tough team for a young pitcher like Perkins to face considering how they work counts and they hit .325 against LHP. Usually don't play this high of odds, but I really think the Sox are worth the price tonight.
