Default Re: Wednesday Plays...

Five plays for tonight:

Atlanta +135- Great value on the Braves tonight as I am not sure how they can get off putting Myers at this price. Myers have a 1.49 WHIP and has given up 12 HR in just 49 innings this season as a starter. Glavine has not been all that great but he has pitched better than his numbers dictate because of a few bad starts. He has a tremendous track record against Philly and the Phils still hit just .246 against LHP. The Braves are the Phil's equal or better and I really like them tonight.

Cleveland -150- I am pretty sure CC will be up for this game after giving up 9 ER in just 3.1 innings at home against Oakland earlier this year. He has been very good of late striking out 32 in his last 4 starts and the A's bats have started this road trip very slow scoring just 4 runs in their 3 losses. The Indians have a nice history against Blanton and I think Blanton's reputation surpasses his true ability and I like CC even at a bit of a lofty price tonight.

Pittsburgh +140-The Cardinals are a in full regression mode right now losing 6 of their last 7 games and I think the Pirates are great value tonight. Wellemeyer has a good chance of joining the regression party tonight as he has survived by giving up just 1 HR in his last 5 starts despite extreme flyball figures. Maholm has been very poor on the road, but his numbers really have been solid with a 1.43 WHIP and he does a very good job of keeping the ball in the park. Going to ride the Bucos hot streak tonight and they are worth a shot at this price.

CWS +120- The White Sox have been money in Game 3's so far this year going 7-2 to close out most of their series. Tonight I think they are worth a shot again in a Game 3. Contreras has been solid all year giving up just 2 HR in 46 innings, but especially of late with a 1.02 WHIP in his last 3 starts. He also has a great track record against LAA. Lackey will be protected tonight in his first start back from the DL and he has backed by a team that just isn't hitting right now and I think the Sox will win this game tonight.

Houston -118- Moehler and Misch have all the making of a slug fest tonight, but I think the Astros are far better suited for this type of a game than the Giants. They hit .299 as a team against LHP and Misch has been giving up gopher balls at a extremely high rate with 5 given up in just 16 innings of work. The Astros dropped a game last night, but I think they will rebound tonight in a high-run volume game which should help them with their far more offensive talent.

GL to all!
