--------------------------------------------------------------
NY Islanders @ Pittsbourgh Penguins
Really tough one to call, went through all the stats and trends, and these two teams are really hard to separate. No major injury worries for both teams, well only Yashin, who is the best assister at Islanders is still out for them. Teams are meeting fifth time this year and the series is tied at two, both teams winnig one at home and one away. Islanders have the slight edge looking at last ten ot five games but this could not be decisive today. In researching the game, three things that imo could decide this game poped out
Islanders are rested as they played their last game on 9/12 and Penguins played two nights ago and won 8-4 against Phily, so its a 5 vs 2 day rest game, but got to notice that Penguins are at home for 4 days now, so no travelling for them. Another important factor for this game should be the stats of shoots on goal/allowed shots of the teams, the season stats shows that Pitsburgh is 27sog and 31.4 allowed on the season. But looking at the last five games that changed dramatically as they are averaging in last five 32.8 shots on goal and 26.2 allowed and thats a major difference which made them go on a three game winning streak. And the third and imo the strongest fact is that Crosby is on fire, 19 year old has been simply unbelievable, in last game he scored 1 and addded 5 assist and is leading both the scorer (together with Evgeni Malin on 15) and assist table in PIT. Impresively Crosby scored 15 points in last six games and he scored a goal in all last five, it seems that there is no stoping him. At Islanders their top goalscorer Jason Blake scored just once in last seven but added 5 assists. As i mentioned Yashin (22g/10g/18a) is out for the Islanders, so Kozlov could be the second threat for the Penguins, he scored 4 against Rangers on 3/12, and had a three point game when these two last met.
These two met 4 times this season managing 2 overs and 2 unders, both teams are on recent run of overs - Pit 3ov and NYI 2ov.the teams had 30 overs in last 46 and 16 in 24 matches in Pitsburgh between them. Probable goalies for this game are Fleury for Penguins and Di Pietro for Islanders and their recent performances havent been of the highest standard.
Leans: Pittsburgh and over

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Carolina Hurricanes
Carolina are coming from a four game tour in which they won all four matches, and Toronto managed to beat lowly Tampa at home with 5-4 and ending their seven game loosing streak. Carolina is 3-7 and Toronto 2-8 in last ten. Brindamour is questionable for Carolina. Teams havent met this season.Carolina are 8-4-0-1 at home and Leafs 7-6-1-2 away. Carolina had 4 day rest and is 2-3-0-and Leafs had 3 day rest and are 0-2-1-0 in that situation – a small edge for Carolina. Ward is the probable starter for CAR and Raycroft for the leafs, and they both arent in the .900 SP zone, but got to say that Raycroft had an .941 in his 40 minutes game last time vs Tampa. Hard game to call, but there is one intersting thing, since Sundin got back in the squad after been injured for good three weeks they have begun their bad run of results as Sundin was able to contibute only 4 poits in his last eight games. Torontos best scorer Tucker has been cold lately with only two goals in last eight . Top scorer for Carolina Brindamour is as writen questionable and Stall is cold with only 3goals of his 16 this season svored in last ten. Maybee Justin Williams can fill that void as he scored two in last game
Lean: Carolina
