I'm not Gary Bettmans biggest fan but I completely agree here. Not only is the NHL playing regular season games in Europe, but look for the NFL and the NBA to follow suit. I believe Major League Baseball has played a regular season game or two in Japan but I'm not certain. I wouldn't even be surprised if 10 or 20 years down the road they're teams from Europe in the NHL, NFL or the NBA. They might be soccer crazy in Europe but why not give it a shot.
As for the teams involved, not the greatest matchup but I think that's irrelevant anyways. When the NFL went to Mexico they pitted two of the worst teams in the league(Arizona and the 49ers) but did it really matter. It's not like the ratings for the NHL can get any lower anyways, so why the hell not.
