| Britney Spears Leaves Hospital, Parents Hope To Avoid 'Tragedy': Britney Spears is a free woman once again. Britney has been released from the UCLA Medical Center over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, just one week after she was admitted and a full week before she was scheduled to leave. A source close to the Spears family tells 'E! News': "Britney's relieved, as is everyone. The goal was for her to get well, not to be stuck in a hospital." And that the singer felt "like a caged animal" within the confines of the psych ward. The good news is that she is expected to continue receiving psychiatric therapy as an outpatient and her regained freedom does not change the conservatorship orders, which allows Spears' father, Jamie, to have temporary control over her legal and medical affairs. However, hours after her surprise release on Wednesday afternoon, Spears was back with boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. The two were at a Beverly Hills Hotel for about two hours, and then left soon after 7 p.m., before being back around 9 p.m. Jamie Spears visited Britney at the hotel to remind her of the court order. The family is said to be very concerned about her early release and Jamie Lynne and Spears have released a joint statement. "As parents of an adult child in the throes of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe." "We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability, and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. "We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted." Meanwhile, Sam Lutfi, who is facing allegations of drugging and bullying Spears has gone into hiding and is lying low since Britney's release. |
