As hard as it may be for some of you to believe, my real name is not Chop Talk.

I think too much gets made of ghost unless you use them to bump up your own threads, are for some other self serving reason.

I will be the first to admit I have 4 posting handles at therx, but I have never once used one of those ghost to post in a choptalk thread. I had other reasons for them.

I don't see the need but for one Posting handle.... and Yes dirty is what I am called in real life by everyone but my family.... I have nothing to hide... I don't need to create ghosts to stir shit, further an agenda, or do whatever....

not using a real name as a posting handle doesn't equate to ghosting. i understand what you're saying (that one handle or five, we could all hide behind an internet identity), but i really don't think so.i'm not sure why people use multiple handles. why not use one handle, and let your posting be an extension of your personality? just like in life, some will like you, some won't, and you'll make some friends. somehow using different handles in the same forum just seems seedy to me, like you're trying to trick a bunch of people who don't care either way. if you just need a fresh start, i understand starting over. but that's about the only exception.

In forum culture your main posting handle isn't a ghost. Using multiple identities is "ghosting."

I can't think of any good reason to use ghosts. Most of the reasons I can think of are either fraudulent or just idiotic.
