If James White is your boy, you shoulda gotten in his head years ago so his collegiate career wouldn't have gone down as an overall disappointment. He did have a pretty nice senior year, though...great defender, and one of the filthiest dunkers I've ever seen. He'll find a spot in the NBA because of his defense.

And if I'm not mistaken, that pictures in your last post is of Bryson Spinner? Talk about another collosal waste of talent and ability. Trying to cheat at the self-proclaimed, "most honorable" university in the nation = smart.

james will have trouble with his D int he NBA b/c he is sooooo thin and cant put on weight. if he gets with the right team he can run and finish near the basket, but there is too much motion in his shot right now to get consistant. He would have been a first rounder had he left out of HS....
he will work hard and stick on a roster. not bad

wasn't it spinner who was alternating series with schaub at UVa? i guess things didn't turn out too well for him; i knew he transferred to UR but didn't realize he'd gotten his walking papers for breaking the honor code. richmond almost beat UVa in one of Groh's first years.

Thanks also for the story about RMJR, I'm glad he doesn't regret his choice of schools. It was frustrating to watch him and other guys like Travis Watson and Chris Williams never develop under Gillen. Not to mention the disaster that was Majestic Mapp. All those guys seemed like classy individuals and I'm sorry their collegiate careers didn't turn out better. One of the stories I heard about Mase that made me like him even more was that he asked when introduced to always include the "junior" after his name to show respect to his father. I know he was with the Bulls for a while and then Toronto but I lost track of him after that.

everyone loved mapp from what i know...that was a shame. the only person that went thru UVA that was a big problem was jennifer. or thats what i have heard...i dont hear much about UVA. shit, i dont here much about the guys playing anymore since now everyone my age is in an old folks home. he an monroe (gw) used to run around up here some an palyed with that goofball white chocolate at manner park...some good players in this area.

about the password....well i never hide from my opinions, so its not like i wouldhave to pretend. i did my best to do what was asked...some people didnt want me to be on. its fine. people will visit here and its whatever. someone changed my password without my varifying or requesting anything. those are facts and eog knows that.

yeah i meant mapp was nothing but class and was seemingly mistreated by gillen but never said a bad word about his coach or school.

Gillen really didn't treat Mapp poorly. He gave him every opportunity to come back after his devastating injury after a great freshman year. Unfortunately, he just wasn't the same player afterwards. But yeah, by all accounts Mapp was the most likeable guy.

Quick tidbit about him: as unique as his name is, he has a brother named SCIENTIFIC. No joke.

Jenifer never developed a jump shot, which was a shame considering how lightning quick he was off the dribble. But he never had a good head on his shoulders, and that's what ultimately did him in.

Didn't read what story you guys are refering to about Mason Jr...but he was one of my favorite players when he was at UVA, despite the fact that the group of players during his career there largely underachieved. I still get chills when I think about Adam Hall's layup with a second left to beat Duke. Oh, and speaking of that team, Travis Watson is one of my all-time favorite college bball players. What he was able to accomplish at his size was nothing short of remarkable. The guy was all heart.

Oh yeah, I'm fairly certain that that was Spinner in the picture. He was very highly touted and in fact had beaten out Schaub before getting into trouble for cheating. That story NEVER came out in the news...all that was reported was that he was transfering.
