Hache had to step away, but the "free picks posts" that were not claimed earlier, are VOID now...

lol i dont know what the point really was, but it seemed silly to begin with. it takes about 1 second to pick plays, not that hard for a grown man to do on his own.

He was trying to help out the players, who would have wanted in, becuase the thread got up late, and the game started earlier than usual..

so he made some "random" picks, and posted them BEFORE the game started, and was gonna let the first few late comers at least have a shot..

the deadline for picks was 7:10, so he posted these right at game time....any OTHER picks made after that wouldnt have counted, but these posts were made before the game......

thats all it was....

i see. doesnt seem like a bad idea. i didnt realize that this start time was any different that the norm and it was kinda close to game time. but if someone has the time to look at the picks, they could have picked them for themselves. otherwise, its just picking a set of figures without having any idea as to what you've chosen and that seems like an odd way to reach an award of some sort.

Shawn the contest wasn't posted late compared to any other Thursday.

It's just that the 1st game started at 7 this time instead of 8.

I would have started working on this contest as soon as I got in this afternoon, but instead chose to grade the USD MLB Pick The Dog contest 1st so guys could see where they stood.

To help out since the game started early & a lot of guys weren't online yet, I posted random selections in 5 different posts BEFORE the game started, which made them legit, and would simply award those picks to the 1st 5 who came in and claimed them. In my opinion, what difference is this than anyone else picking them? All I was merely doing is posting some posters' picks for them since the game started early and many weren't around yet to submit them yet.


I personally think it's a good idea & something interesting we can possibly use for contests in the future in specific situations.

As I said above, I first had to grade the USD MLB contest though

I suppose it's a no-win situation...........
