It's over. It's all over

I stand in front of you, defeated, naked, empty, humble.
After 11 consecutive winning days of wagering spread out of the past two weeks I sit here in my gloomy mood, a loser.
Yesterdays disaster behind me, I still cannot find the energy to move ahead, looking for winners, waiting to pounce.
My review of which will now and forever be known as "Black Thursday".

1) Bosox under 10. It starts slow, but each team has a flurry of runs mid game to make it 3-3. In the 7th, the Bosox score 4 runs on 3 two out hits to make it 7-3. I still have hope. A push is possible. Top of the 9th, in comes Gagne. No problem. This is a lock. I've got my money back. WRONG!!! Gagne gives up a meaningless run to make it 7-4. I lose. Down 1 unit.

2) Nats under 9. It's over early. Both teams score early, bad pick by me.
Loser. Down another 1/2 unit.

It's at this time, as the late games approach, I realize that the most important thing in my life, above the birth of my two grandkids, the rise of all my stock, the waxy yellow buildup on my kitchen floor, is for me to keep my streak alive. What I did next every gambler in the world knows and has done: CHASE.
I place 2 units on the easiest game of the day. Giants/Dodgers over 9.
Zitto and Tomko can't get out their mothers. In the bag. sure fire winner.
WRONG!!! LOSER!! I find myself 3 1/2 units down for the day, the streak in the toilet, my life in shambles, no reason to live with an empty bottle of wine, drunk, almost incoherent, teary eyed, head in my lap smelling the most recent bout of gas that just left me.

I'm despondent. What do I do? 30 minutes ago, at 5:30 am, Mrs BettingFool told me to get out of bed, go to the computer and talk it out, let my fellow posters feel my pain, let them pat me on the back and tell me to "Go pick one more winner for the Gipper".

I think I'll take a peek at today's card. The books must have missed a play that I can pounce all over.

As Dog Days ends, so does winning @ MLB. Happens every year & I've put in nearly 3 decades. Now is time to hang up your cleats & perhaps concentrate on NCAA football. No ez task as that ball bounces funny. Not giving back what picked up since late May. "Sure" things on the diamond last 2 months of the season are SURE to diminish your bankroll, if fortunate enuf to STILL have one. It's never ez & just like PRO sports, as season goes on, its tougher & tougher....darn near impossible.

I've decided that checking myself in for "gamblers rehab" is not a good idea.
I love foots and will be heavily involved soon. But, there are still easy pick'ns waiting in bases, especially totals, thru September and I think I'll just fire away day by day. That is, of course, as long as I can get out of this deep depression I'm in over my "BLACK THURSDAY".

If you never wager more than 5-6% total of your bankroll in any given day you won't have days like this.

It was just my pride and ego that was bruised to the point of having ill-rational thoughts.
