Diamondbacks (Scherzer) +$1.20 at Rockies (De La Rosa) Analysis: It's worth a strong look any time you can get a superior starting pitcher at a 'dog price. That's the case here with Arizona's Max Scherzer opposing Jorge De La Rosa. Scherzer only went 4 1/3 innings in his last start giving up eight runs in a 12-8 loss to the Angels. But only three of those runs were earned. No that wasn't one of Scherzer's better performances. But in his four previous starts, the flame-throwing righty had a 1.46 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings. Scherzer is a tremendous young talent. He's a rising star. Arizona has won seven of his last 10 starts. De La Rosa, on the other hand, is a journeyman lucky to be on a major league roster. To his credit, De La Rosa has been better than expected on the road. Of course the bar is set very low in his case. The lefty has struggled at Coors Field going 1-5 with a 7.97 ERA in seven home starts. The Diamondbacks are not a good team. But their offense should pick up with the return of Chad Tracy, who was activated off the DL on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks do have the power right-handed bats to take advantage of De La Rosa. The Diamondbacks also have a good history at Coors having defeated the Rockies seven of the last nine times in Colorado.

first off stephen - check your private mail soon on this one BUT 100% DISAGREE Max "Schnauzer" always seems to do just poor enuf to lose and while he is the better pitcher in this game the fact the Snakes are 3-8 his last 11 road games speaks volumes i agree DLR is lucky to be in MLB but then we can say the same for most of the AZ roster. i like the Rox here AT HOME and as hot as they are to me Rox -130 and -1.5 +155 is a GREAT play

Always value your opinion Winky. Colorado is playing well, much better than Arizona right now. I definitely give you that point. However, I strongly disagree with you about the talents of Scherzer. I like him a lot. He wouldn't be so under the radar if he had better defense behind him and was in a bigger market. De La Rosa has been terrible at home. Some pitchers can't pitch at Coors. That looks like the case with De La Rosa.

Snakes 1-7 their L8 games and the only win was Haren - which i don't count because Schnauzer ain't Haren last few games Schnauzer has pitched against quality competition - and bats - HE GOT LIT! Texass and LA Angels of Topeka, KS shelled him and i think we both can agree at home the Rox are every bit as good if not better at the plate than either of those 2 teams DLR sucks - i agree - but i think the chances of DLR tossing a good game against a shithole team like AZ is A LOT better than Schnauzer tossing one against the Rox Rox off a long roadie but the fact they got home early Wed (day game in LA) and had Thursday off means A LOT to me - i don't expect them to be tired at all since they have had 2 FULL nights rest in their own beds we shall see later tonite but to me Rox at this price over this team is a GIFT
