| said this wednesday night on the LVA conf call and will say it once again here TERRIBLE play - beyond awful - and one so many allegedly smart gamblers make it boggles my mind Russ - what do you think the odds of Xav covering this game AND losing are/were? when you take +1.5 the ONLY way you can cover by Xav losing is if they lose by 1. ok - it almost happened had Alexander made that FT and WVU won by 1 - but it didn't happen you just gave the books $.15 on this play by NOT taking +105 on the M/L. Russ - of all the people out there i woulda thought you would be smart enough to know +1.5 is the WORST PLAY POSSIBLE for this game and +105 on the M/L is the MUCH better play i'd love to hear your reasoning for what is really an inexcusable play to make and post |

Do you have a corn cob stuck permanently up your ass? Let's see now, why don't you remind everyone again what your posted picks were for Thursday nite.

| A couple of things. Of course the 1 1/2 points is worth something. Despite featuring mostly mismatches, there were games last Thursday, Friday and Saturday decided by one point. Several games have gone overtime thus far in the tourney. When I post my plays I always use pointspreads even if I am playing the moneyline for myself. Why bother to list moneylines for your dog plays when all you hear is your won/loss record is such and such straight up? I used to list my moneyline plays but the overwhelming majority of forum readers just count winners and losers, so I don't go to the trouble to point out when the better value is the moneyline. I just post square numbers. The only issue should be who I play, not what lines I post. P.S. I noticed you waited until AFTER Alexander (an 80% FT shooter) missed his shot before you posted. Were you planning on making this same post if he made the free throw? |

the 2 things i have been consistent on here and run the risk of carpal tunnel over is the stupidity of CFB teasers taking the M/L on hoops dogs of less than 2 or nfl dogs of less than 3 - in the long run a much more proftibal venture than taking points and hoping your team loses by less than 1 score if WVU won the game by 1 - i woulda lost by not taking +1.5 but in the long run i'd be up a lot more by taking a dog @ "plus" money than laying "minus" money with the points taking +105 and losing as opposed to -110 and losing means one time out of 7 the dog wins ATS and not SU and i lose money on this. i'll take that chance because in the long run i will be making more money taking +105 that -110 and points i stand by what i said - and have said it countless times before. as i also said - i would expect something like this to happen from someone not as knowledgeable as you - and am stunned someone as smart as you did something like this

| WD--Did you read my post? I have often taken small dogs on the moneyline in both football and basketball. Not always, as sometimes I get the points at such reduced juice that they are the better deal. And I hardly EVER lay 11/10 on a square line--I always get reduced juice or a better number. Matchbook is my buddy. I thought I made that clear in my post. By the way, you posted last week that of my four long shot tourney plays "NONE stand a remote chance of winning and making the F4 let alone winning it all" Xavier was 75-1 at some places and is now less than 3-1 to make the Final Four. You have a good opinion. You also suffer from Howard Cosell Syndrome--Often wrong, never in doubt. |
