Drake has hired Arizona State assistant Mark Phelps to replace Keno Davis.
According to sources close to the situation, a news conference is expected on Monday.

Phelps has spent the last two seasons at Arizona State after following head coach Herb Sendek from N.C. State, where he spent 10 years as an assistant.
Drake athletic director Sandy Hatfield Clubb previously worked at Arizona State.


Phelps takes over a Drake team that was expected to finish towards the bottom of the Missouri Valley Conference a year ago, but wound up winning 28 games and earning an NCAA tournament berth — its first since 1971.
Davis left for Providence last week after earning several Coach of the Year honors.
