Richt: 'Eat your Wheaties'

If, that is, you plan to serve Wheaties.
The cereal that claims to be the "Breakfast of Champions" unveiled Tuesday a new box that features Richt on the front. Richt and a representative of General Mills pulled a blue cover off a 6-foot-tall replica box at the beginning of Richt's weekly news conference Tuesday at Stegeman Coliseum.
Richt was clearly taken aback at seeing his likeness on a box graced by so many famous athletes over the years.
"That's pretty humbling," he said. "It's great for Georgia. I'm sorry they couldn't come up with a better image. I hope we can live up to it.
Georgia is one of three colleges that will be featured on the boxes and distributed regionally. Wheaties representatives declined to identify the other two schools but said the Bulldogs' box will be distributed in the Southeast.
"That?s where we recruit, so that's a big deal," Richt said. "Any high-school aged kid over 6-3, 240 who runs a 4.5, if you'd let him have a free box, that'd be good."
Along with Richt on the box cover is famed mascot Uga VI in the bottom right corner and a Georgia helmet.
"That's pretty exciting, really," Richt said. "I know my mom will be thrilled. My wife will probably try to do something to knock me down a peg or two. That's a great honor. I'm glad Georgia was able to make the Wheaties box. That's pretty good."
