| Ot seems as if the majority of posts are being done by Tennessee fans trying to defend their new head coach. The fact of the matter is that Tennessee is a nothing team. A team that may go 5-7, or 7-5. No one cares. They are not going to defeat Florida. They are not going to challenge for the SEC title. They are not going to challenge for the NC. There must be something to talk about here other than all the crap we have to see from a bunch of Tennessee fans who have nothing better to do, because let's face it. How many times can you go to Dollywood? |

| I am a USC homer....I wouldn't call myself a fan only because I critisize them pretty hard throughout the course of the season when they have all the talent in the world and fail to win against stanford by 40. Anyone else? |

| If UT is such a nothing team why do people keep talking about them????? oh yeah..good info here for a nothing team with a nothing coach...wonder if they will pull this california kid....hmmmm..... After finishing UT camp, Scroggins says he has not committed By Dave Hooker (Contact) Originally published 03:13 p.m., June 20, 2009 Updated 03:13 p.m., June 20, 2009 STORY TOOLS RELATED STORIES Related Links More Football Recruiting
Get Reprints Quarterback Jesse Scroggins maintained he is not committed to play football for Tennessee despite persistent speculation to the contrary. “I’m loving the trip actually,” the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Scroggins from Lakewood (Calif.) High School said following UT’s camp on Saturday. “This is my mother’s home state. That gave them (the Vols) an advantage a little but I have not committed yet.” The trip was Scroggins’ first to Knoxville. Scroggins visited Florida this week before traveling to UT. He maintained that he is still “wide open” concerning his college decision but it was clear UT had made a strong impression and likely vaulted into the lead. Scroggins will stay in Knoxville until Sunday before flying home to Southern California. If Scroggins stays true to his plan, UT will have the final say in his recruitment. “I don’t plan to commit on any of these trips,” Scroggins said. “I’m thinking next week or something. I’ve still got to go back and evaluate and talk to my coach, tell him how I feel and talk to my parents.” Much of Scroggins decision could hinge on UT’s evaluation of his cousin: receiver Jerry Anderson from Houston High School in Germantown. Anderson was at UT’s camp on Saturday. “We used to play together when we were like five and six (years old) and we’ve been trying to hook up since, but it hasn’t really worked out yet,” Anderson said. “Hopefully Tennessee can make that happen.” Anderson said he has scholarship offers from Duke, Ole Miss, Purdue, Indiana and Middle Tennessee State. He said he was hoping for a UT offer before the end of the day on Saturday. “I haven’t seen him in four years,” Scroggins said of his cousin. “Working out with him was a great thing. I’m hoping they offer him.” UT has family on its side in Scroggins’ recruitment. He has several family members living in Memphis. That sense of family carried over to Scroggins’ trip to Knoxville. “It’s more like a family feeling,” Scroggins said. “It felt like I already knew them (UT fans) but I didn’t know them. Everything felt good.” Scroggins certainly felt at home when he saw “The Rock” painted orange and white with “Scroggins = T Championships”. “The Rock” is a minivan-sized stone close to the athletic complex that is often painted with university-related messages. “I came here and my name was on this big rock,” Scroggins said with a wide smile. “That’s very impressive. I felt welcome, very welcome.” Scroggins spent much of his time in Knoxville with UT coach Lane Kiffin. With only one scholarship quarterback slated to be on the roster following the 2009 season, UT is in desperate need of a quarterback for its 2010 signing class. “Down to earth guy,” Scroggins said describing Kiffin. “We kid around about stuff. He’s real cool.” Scroggins will take part in a camp at Southern California next weekend in which six quarterbacks will take part in a skills competition. “Whoever does the best this week gets an offer on the spot,” Scroggins said, reciting what he has been told by USC coaches. Yet an offer doesn’t mean Scroggins is certain to pick the Trojans, even though USC’s campus is less than 20 miles from Scroggins’ home. “This process is almost over,” Scroggins said. “(They) kind of waited.” Scroggins is widely considered one of the best pro-style quarterbacks in the nation, although he has more athletic ability than many of his pocket passing counterparts. That was on display during some of UT’s footwork drills. Scroggins’ strong arm was best showcased during UT’s one-on-one and seven-on-seven drills. Scroggins said he was impressed with some of the UT players he met on his trip, namely tailback Bryce Brown and defensive end Chris Walker. “The trip has been fun,” Scroggins said. “I got to work out in the camp and the coaches have showed me around and gave me love.” |

| That is a cop out. You know where your team stands, or if you do not, you should not be posting in here. All I see is two people posting about a crappy team that has NO chance of winning the SEC this year. Tell me about your team. No one gives a shit about Tennessee except two posters in here. I know you guys lost a lot of posters, but this is rediculous. Tell me about your teams. Do not make lame excuses like "everyone is 0-0 now". And as far as you Tennessee fans go, the more you talk about how great yoyr team is, the more I am going to kickyour tails all over this site when they start to lose. |

| You read it here first; The University of Texas beats OU in Dallas by double digits; wins the Big XII Championship over some spare team that plays in the cold; Colt McCoy wins the Heisman, and, as an afterthought, The Longhorns win the National Championship. |

| I said before UT would be better than expected. I offered a wager....you wouldn't take it... you're opinion to me means less than doc mercer. clearly you are a pac 10 supporter which says plenty. you have probably been a USC fan since what 2002... you have proven time and again you know nothing. If you really want to wager on football and can put up before the games...i will kill you every week on what you think you know. and no....I wouldn't bet on UT right now to save my life. totally unpredictable except the D will be top notch. |

| PSU Fan...But an honest one, I know the Big 10 is down. I also know it's a cycle as the Big 10 went 2-1 against the SEC in bowls just a couple of years ago 07.

| In college I don't have a fav team. I just love the Jersey kids repping the Garden State. You already know this BigDaddy and told me how many more guys come out of Cali. Which we all know, because they are a STate that is at least 5x bigger than it. I love my boys, and I leave it at when the SC/Trojans won a bowl game a couple of yrs ago, they had an offensive and defensive MVP. The best school in Cali had a kid named Jarrett and Cushing as those guys. Kids from north brunswick and Bergen co. I love RU football. You can these days, cause we have a great coach who CAN keep some of the guys at home. ND- nothing we have bette rin Jersey that prep/parochial schools for guys. where would ND be w/out all the Irish and Italian kids from Jersey? My Tarheels, always have some NJ guys, and love Butch Davis and what he is doing. He got the better of greg LY, but he wasn't ther when RU beat them in NC on Ray Rice 1st game. Those are my teams, but again, I take the Jersey kids over anyone. |
