| When I have time I'll try and find some teams that I feel we all can make some on this year . Lets start with Notre Dame:ND has 10 starters returning on offense and 7 on Defense. 8 of the O starters are in their 3rd year with Weis's offense and Clausen really seemed to get comfortable at the end of last year. They should have a solid running game for the first time since Weis has been there with 4 experienced RB's and a veteran O line. Their D will be starting 7 Jr's and sr's and is switching to a 4-3 to take advantage of a deep group of linebackers. They play -- I believe -- 8 games against teams that will have first year QB's which may help the D especially early on. I think Charlie may try and prove early that ND football is back, if he does we may be in for a nice ride. BOL

| There is only one problem with Notre Dame. The linemakers ALWAYS stack the line against them. They rarely have big winning season ATS. They always lose at least 4 games ATS,and have lost as many as 9 in a year with Fat Charlie at the helm. |

I know, they are taking advantage of the large fan base. This year may be different. I said this last year about PSU, and they were a cover machine even against large spreads. ND may play with a real chip on their shoulder this year, if so you know that POS (no I am not a fan) Wies will run it up every chance he gets. Only time will tell though.

| Well, Notre Dame is now -17 vs Nevada (Reno) and -3 1/2 at Michigan. Anyone playing either of those games? |

I haven't studied the Nevada team yet, but looking at the Hawaii game that is a potential play. At worst I will play ND -3 (120) over Michigan, but I feel ND may be a full TD or more better than Mich so I may not buy the 1/2.

| If the Nevada line stays at 17 I will not play it, Nevada has a good QB and can score. ND D is supposed to be much better this year, but in an opening game where they have not proven it yet, that number is to high. ND should score at will against Nevada's D, which was one of the worst in div 1 last year, but I cannot trust ND D to come through yet.

| While a lot of these lines for the games later on will change, the lines for the first week's games probably will not change significantly, unless the linesmakers just flat miss a line, like they did with Illinois-Missouri. The line for that game has gone from Illinois -2 1/2 to -5. I think Notre Dame stays around a 17 point favorite over Nevada. |

| I like Notre Dame -17 against Nevada. While ND almost lost to low (athletic) San Diego St last year, Nevada isn't as athletic. ND has the talent to win by three touchdowns or more. Nevada has a running quarterback and needs to be taken seriuosly, but Notre Dame has made some major improvements at linebacker (Manti Teo) and should control the game. Seeing how ND finished the season out last year against a WAC team enpowers my confidence in this game. |

UA...I am undecided at this point which usually means I lay off. ND's D is what bothers me, they should be good this year but to trust them to hold Nevada to under 21 is hard for me. They did dominate Hawaii in the bowl and they are capable of dominating Nevada...but will they? Charlie has laid a few eggs so far. I have no doubt ND scores 5 TD's (35) maybe more...But Nevada may score 3 and if so we are hosed by that line. Over may worth a look ![]()

| ALL the pre season mags love ND! I think they will be overvalued for the 1st 6 games. They have a "pussy" schedule and could go 10-2, but their ATS will disapoint you homers. |

Try reading prior to posting, it can be quit helpful . I stated in my opening analysis that I hate Notre Dame, I only look at them from a betting perspective and they may be a solid play this year. If the Mich line stays around 3 they are a good value.

| Noob, no one gives a shit what you post, nor is anyone influenced by what you say. My point of view re. ND was independent of this forum, IF you'll read before you comment, my post was aimed @ preseason mags & ND "homer"!! Wake the fuck up! |

| Can we get back to Notre Dame now? Nevada will be able to move the ball on the Irish. Kaepernick was the WAC Offensive Player of the Year. He is a solid QB. Their ground attack is led by Vai Taua, who led the conference in rushing, and was second to Kaepernick in scoring. Notre Dame will also score a lot of points, as defense has never been a strong point in Nevada's game. 17 points is a lot to give up, especially when it comes to back door covers. The over may be the play here. As far as the Michigan game goes, I think Notre Dame covers the 3 points. What you have to remember is that every game is a "must" game for Weis, with the possible exception of the USC game. Michigan is not expecting much out of RR this coming season. Certainly a 6-6 record, but not a contender for the Big 10 title. I think Notre Dame plays with a sense of urgency in that game. Michigan will not have that same sense of urgancy, unless things go wrong with their opener against Western Michigan. |

| I would agree with the sentiments from above....Kaepernick if my memory serves me correctly is a pitcher as well for Nevada right? Last time I saw him I remembered the huge arm he had. He can be a dual threat QB, while ND doesn't have the D-Line or linebackers to contain him I think he can be a real threat to ND both passing and running. As long as Nevada doesn't become one dimensional I believe that Nevada can keep this game within 10. About michigan, BD makes a great point. Weis has to have this game, he has to. There are no 2 ways about it because if he doesn't win the game against UM, then the USC game becomes a much bigger game. I don't think ND will be within 20 of USC because by then the QB Barkley should of gained some starting expierence which will be key to his success. Also, the early word out of USC is that Barkley is starting to anticpate WR's making breaks and the ball is in the air before the WR's make their breaks making it very very hard on opposing DB's to get jumps on WR's. |

| ND has opened at BFC at -13 against Nevada at BFC (Thanks Mike) ...To me that line may have some real value...ND needs to make a statement here...at under 2 TD's what do you guys think, is it a play?

I know that preseason talk is preseason talk but there are a lot of good things coming out of camp this year. Also, Clausen had his key WRs Floyd and Golden, as well as fellow 5 star stud TE Kyle Rudolph out to his California home where they reportedly threw for up to 8 hours a day, and watched film of it at night. This team has more chemistry and more swagger than any ND team I've seen in a long time. They expect to be good, unlike previous teams just hoping to be good. Also, you've got to like the motto being drilled into their heads this year. Go out and prove it. Every interview with the coaches and players has the same tone -- there's no point in talking about expectations. It's time to go out and prove it. And I know this is off topic, but I heard that Ian Williams cleaned 400 lbs. That's insane. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape but I can't even do half of that. Any weight lifters here have thoughts on this? I don't know what competitive weights are or anything but I need to believe that's pretty high up there. At any rate, I like the Irish chances of stuffing the run on 3rd and short with Ian Williams at the nose. | |

| With so many bad years lately, maybe they don't have the nationwide fan base anymore. My kid does not even know they are expected to be good every year |
