Kevin Jones is unlikely to be ready for Week 1, according to the Grand Rapids Press.

The paper expects Detroit to re-sign one of T.J. Duckett and Tatum Bell and use a mid-round pick on a runner. All indications so far have been that Jones' rehab is going well, so we still wouldn't rule him out for the opener.

	Kevin Jones (ACL surgery) says he's two weeks ahead of schedule in his recovery and will begin running next week. Jones will return to Detroit to continue his rehab after initially going against the Lions' wishes and working out in Arizona. The club is actively working to find a starting caliber running back as insurance. Free agent Julius Jones will be in MoTown on Tuesday to interview and take a physical. Source: MLive.com
