The Bears defense held the Lions to seven points and 46
yards rushing in Week 2, racking up a total of six sacks and three forced fumbles. Owners who have the Bears defense should be pleased, but be aware that they will be in for a dogfight in Week 3 at Minnesota. Don't bench them, of course, but don't expect another dominant game (or as dominant, we should say). |

minnesota, seriously??? this is the best time to start them. I can't wait to see their 55 year old QB on his ass all day.. does anyone seriously think chester taylor will open up the passing game for them? gimmie a break. i haven't seen the line yet, but if its not at least 7, take the bears, take the vikings if you're the retarded vikings fan thats gonna respond to this. plus the vikes should be 1-1, given that game on sunday, against a horrible panthers team (well right now they are). erasmas james is out for the year. Brad johnson not mobile enough to handle the bears pressure defense. did everyone see brunell last night?? it will be like that, only worse. The bears defense is sereiously even better than last year, and now they actually have an offense. not some rookie Qb in a neck beard contest.

The Bears defense was punishing against the Vikings, though
you wouldn't think it by looking at the box score: One sack, zero interceptions, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in Week 3 play. The Bears did hold the Vikings to 16 points, 194 passing yards and 97 rush yards. The Bears defense will be in for a huge test against Shaun Alexander and the Seahawks in Week 4. Bench them? Unless you have another awesome defense with a sweet matchup, don't even think about it. |

The Bears DST allowed just six points in Week 4 against the
Seahawks, allowing 230 total net yards in the win. They also had five sacks and a pair of interceptions. The Bears DST is a must-start in all Fantasy leagues, especially for a favorable matchup in Week 5 against the Bills. |

The Bears defense totaled three sacks, three interceptions,
a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries while holding the Buffalo Bills to seven points and 173 total yards in Week 5. The Bears defense continues to be impressive and usable as a must-start unit every week for Fantasy owners. Keep them active when they play at Arizona on Monday night in Week 6. |

A rested Bears defense will host the 49ers in Week 8 play.
The Niners are solid on the ground thanks to RB Frank Gore and are averaging 20.7 points per game, but the Bears run defense is outstanding. Chicago is allowing less than 75 rush yards per contest with one rush TD allowed this year (on a Jon Kitna QB sneak). In their last game, they held Edgerrin James to 55 yards on 36 carries! The Bears defense has reached must-start status in Fantasy play. Expect a bunch of sacks and at least one interception, though the Niners could put up some points late in the game. Start the Bears D in Week 8. |

We can talk G-Men in another thread. :p
Having the Bears as a fantasy defense has been fantastic. I may jinx them with this post but as of now, they have to be atop the highest scorers in the leagues. I think they have been better than Manning so far in scoring? |

The Bears defense totaled two sacks, one interception and
five forced fumbles vs. San Francisco in Week 8. They held the Niners to 10 points but did yield over 100 rushing yards for the second time this season. The Bears defense should dominate again when they play vs. Miami in Week 9. They are a must-start if you own them. |

The Bears DST had no sacks against Miami and gave up 31
points. LB Brian Urlacher had 12 tackles. DL Alex Brown had six tackles and an interception. DB Nathan Vasher had three tackles and an interception. LB Brendon Ayanbadejo recovered a fumble. LB Lance Briggs had five tackles. DB Charles Tillman had six tackles. The Bears will look to bounce back against the Giants in Week 10. Use all their IDP players as needed. |

The Chicago Bears defense allowed 20 points and 249 total
net yards in Week 10 at N.Y. Giants. Most of the grounds came from RB Tiki Barber, who gashed the Bears for 141 rushing yards. The Bears did get a missed field goal returned by rookie Devin Hester for 108 yards, which tied the NFL record held by teammate Nathan Vasher. The Bears defense will look to bounce back in Week 11 at N.Y. Jets. They remain a must-start in all Fantasy leagues despite a couple of shaky performances in a row. |

Notable Bears defenders on the Week 11 injury report include
LB Leon Joe (hamstring) and CB Dante Wesley (knee) as questionable; and DT Tommie Harris (back) as probable. Wesley and Harris did not practice on Wednesday. Harris is a key to the Bears defensive line, but he should be fine for the game at the Jets in Week 11. Absolutely start the Bears defense in all leagues. |

The Bears defense sacked and picked off Chad Pennington
twice each en route to shutting out the Jets in Week 11. The Bears defense continues to play at a high level. Don't bench them despite their difficult Week 12 matchup at New England. |

The Bears defense totaled two interceptions and four forced
fumbles but couldn't sack Tom Brady in a Week 12 loss at New England. They did allow 17 points but finally held a team to under 100 rush yards (but did allow 269 pass yards), the first time they did it in five weeks. The Bears defense should finish strong as their schedule is easy to end the season. Use them as a must-start unit vs. Minnesota in Week 13. |

The Bears DST had two touchdowns and a safety against
Minnesota. DB Devin Hester scored on a 45-yard punt return, DB Ricky Manning scored on a 54-yard interception return and DL Tank Johnson had a safety. The Bears also got interceptions from LB Lance Briggs, LB Brian Urlacher and DB Daniel Manning. LB Hunter Hillenmeyer recovered a fumble. DB Chris Harris had 13 tackles, Urlancher had eight tackles and Briggs had seven tackles. Johnson, DL Adewale Ogunleye and DL Alex Brown each had a sack. The Bears are one of the best DST options and should be considered a No. 1 option for Week 14 against the Rams. Use all regular IDP players. |
