	The Vikings announced Wednesday that Adrian Peterson will not undergo surgery on the collarbone he re-injured in January's Fiesta Bowl. The decision was made after tests showed his collarbone is healing well on its own. Peterson was a full participant at the Vikings' first minicamp and according to team doctors, will be a full-go for training camp in late July. Vikings coach Brad Childress has especially been impressed by Adrian Peterson's receiving ability in early voluntary workouts.

"He’s done a great job, particularly in drills, with all the pass stuff," Childress said. "The run stuff comes very easy to him as well as you would think, but you get drilled with the nuances of the pass game." FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki reports Adrian Peterson will see increased playing time Sunday following Chester Taylor's fight with Erasmus James.

Apparently the fight was the excuse coach Brad Childress needed to feature Peterson more. Peterson has a mediocre matchup against the Bears, but makes a fine flex. Taylor shouldn't be active in any fantasy leagues. Oct. 14

Coach Brad Childress said Monday that the Vikings will continue to split carries between Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor.
Peterson had 21 touches while turning in a record day Sunday, while Taylor touched the ball 22 times, and Childress said that type of split will continue going forward. Imagine the type of numbers that Peterson could be putting up without Taylor (and Childress) around to steal his carries. Oct. 16

Adrian Peterson reportedly said in an interview with CBSSports.com that coach Brad Childress named him the Vikings' Week 8 starter on Wednesday.
Peterson reportedly added that he anticipates being "the starter from now on." We can't find the article on CBS' website, but the apparent depth chart change isn't related to Chester Taylor's groin injury, according to Peterson. Taylor will remain in the backfield mix either way, but gaining the starting job would be a significant upgrade for Peterson's fantasy value. Oct. 26 - 6:06 p.m. ET

Peterson did an interview with CBS Sports and claimed he was named the team's starter "from now on." The rookie has a much better chance to produce consistently over the course of the final ten weeks if he has indeed usurped Chester Taylor. 	The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Adrian Peterson (torn lateral knee ligament) is expected to be out up to three weeks. Chester Taylor will take over as Minnesota's starter, and would have excellent matchups against the Raiders in Week 11 and Lions in Week 13, with a game vs. the Giants sandwiched in. Orthopedist Dr. James Andrews said Wednesday in a statement that the Vikings should evaluate Adrian Peterson (knee) on a "week-to-week" basis.

Andrews looked at the MRI results of Peterson's LCL tear and confirmed the team's medical prognosis. Coach Brad Childress and head trainer Eric Sugarman say Peterson might be back in Week 12, but the Minneapolis Star-Tribune believes the Vikings are more likely to target Week 13 against the Lions as a potential return date for their star rookie.
