[Oops!! - Title should have been: RB Question FOR (not four - LOL) you!] Anyway.... Hey Hache - I used to write for KFFL, so I am pretty confindent in my own analysis skills ans etc., but every once in a while I get pretty paralyzed through too much analysis and become a victim of my own miopic and biased views. I have a #2 RB dilema this week in one of my leagues: My options at #2 RB this week are: Kevin Jones, Reggie Bush & Laurence Maroney Here's my thoughts and I'd love to get your comments and recommendation. Kevin Jones - at first glance this looks like a brutal matchup, but I look at how well Ahamn Green ran against Chicago and I wonder if I should be so quick to dismiss him this week. Pros: Kevin is likely to be used in the passing game if things get ugly. Cons: Ahman's numbers were inflated by 4th quarter running versus a soft prevent defeense and Jones saw a startling low number of carries in a close game last week. Martz is a mystery! Reggie Bush - is definitely a game breaker but shares carries with a surprisingly good looking McAllister. Pros: Each week New Orleans will get better and better at finding the right times and places to use him on the field and will try to get him into empty space as much as possible. Cons: Green Bay's run defense was actually pretty impressive last week. Their linebackers are fast and the line played well (3.0 ave.) Laurence Maroney - is almost as exciting to watch as Bush, but he also shares carries with a surprising old vet who's been rejuvenated (spelling) by the presence of a young stud trying to steal his job. Pros: Will likely continue to get stronger and be used more and more (i.e., in the passing game - which he never learned in college) as the season prgresses. Cons: Dillon looks sharp and I am not excited about hearing that Maroney was sporting a knee brace all week in practice. And it may no be his time yet to steal mroe than 50% of the carries and targets. Decisions, decsions, decisions!! I am leaning towards Bush. Please give me your thoughts and reasons. Thank you in advance Hache! |

Hey there sds Wow, I almost completely agree with all 3 writeups above! I would instantly narrow it down to KJ & Bush. Of course, Detroit talked about getting Jones much more involved in the offense before the season, including the passing game. They did get him the ball out of the backfield as promised approx. 5-6 times. He didn't have a lot of rushing attempts though, but I'm sure we will both agree that had a lot to do with Seattle's D. Unfortunately, Jones & the Lions face that Bears D again this weekend. New Orleans is already using Reggie Bush a little bit more than I expected, and I see his playing time increasing every week. You are leaning towards Bush, as is Eagle above, and I have to make the consensus 3-0 by choosing him as well. GL SDS! |
