UCF offensive coordinator Tim Salem once worked under Colletto at Purdue, so Smith seems tailor made for the Lions system. Tatum Bell reported overweight and Brian Calhoun has hardly played since being drafted in 2006. Still, coach Rod Marinelli believes in competition.
