Rams' Jackson out with partially torn groin
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Sep. 24
Steven Jackson will miss at least Week 4 with a partial tear of his groin.
Jackson's injury was revealed by coach Scott Linehan on Monday. Rookie Brian Leonard will get the bulk of the carries for St. Louis until Jackson returns. It's uncertain how long Jackson will be out, but torn groins usually mean multiple weeks of rehab. Linehan called Jackson "week to week."

Rams rule out Steven Jackson for Week 6
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Oct. 8 - 6:19 p.m. ET
Steven Jackson (groin) has been ruled out for Week 6.
This will be his third consecutive missed game; the initial timetable for Jackson was at least two-to-three weeks. That he's been ruled out so quickly for Week 6 doesn't bode well for Jackson's chances to play in Week 7. Rookie Brian Leonard will get another start, this week against Baltimore.

good - we need him to sit 1 more week

we picked up leonard in our league and in our league IF you put a player on IR he MUST remain on IR for 3 games even if he comes back earlier and since he has to remain on IR one more week i didn't want to see him come back this week since Marshawn Lynch has a BYE for us meaning we have to play Leonard. now who the other RB is - either Ladell Betts or Dominic Rhodes

Report: Jackson may be out until Week 10
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Oct. 11 - 4:47 p.m. ET
The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Steven Jackson (groin tear) may be out until Week 10.
At 0-5, the Rams may avoid risking Jackson by using him before their Week 9 bye. Although Jackson did some running on the side Wednesday, beat reporter Bill Coats writes that the running back's return is "far from imminent." Brian Leonard has an unfavorable matchup against Baltimore this Sunday, but things get easier at Seattle and versus Cleveland prior to the off week.

Rams' Jackson likely to return in Week 8
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Oct. 22 - 5:59 p.m. ET
Rams coach Scott Linehan says there is a "good chance, a really good chance" that Steven Jackson (groin) returns to face Cleveland in Week 8.
Linehan has stated that Jackson won't play if he's not healthy enough to start, so it's an excellent sign that he's so confident early in the week. A full practice Wednesday would be another big step. The Rams' offense has scored only six touchdowns this year, so Jackson's return should provide a boost.

Wow...............

Rams' Jackson has bulging disk in back
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Oct. 29
Steven Jackson has a bulging disk in his back. His status for the Rams' next game in Week 10 is uncertain.
Scott Linehan said the injury is treatable. The AP thought Scott Linehan was optimistic, but his quotes don't sound great. "It’s good timing that we had a bye this week for (Jackson)," Linehan said. "He certainly wouldn’t be able to play this week ... The prognosis is nornally pretty good in getting back in a few weeks." Brian Leonard will remain on-call.

Steven Jackson expected to play in Week 10
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 5
Steven Jackson (groin, back) missed Rams practice Monday, but coach Scott Linehan says he expects Jackson to play in Week 10 at New Orleans.
St. Louis is coming back from a bye week, so there would be no reason to push Jackson through a Monday workout. "Steven looks good," Linehan said. "He feels a lot better. Having some time off and being able to calm that down a little bit was real good for him. He did some conditioning today, and we’ll start him back in with some light work on Wednesday."

Steven Jackson practices, on pace to start
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 7
Steven Jackson (groin, back) returned to a full-speed practice Wednesday.
Jackson is on track to start against New Orleans' surprisingly stout run defense. The Rams also returned OL Brett Romberg (sprained ankles) to the lineup. Romberg, who began the year at center, will replace Richie Incognito (knee) at right guard. Andy McCollum will man the pivot position. All the line shuffling considered, Jackson remains a solid RB2 play in Week 10.

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams

RB Steven Jackson (back) said he "felt good" during the Rams Week 10 win.
Jackson was expected to see limited touches, but finished with 22 carries and five receptions. It is good to see he can handle the heavy workload and Jackson could be in line for a big day against the Niners in Week 11. Nov. 13 - 12:08 p.m. ET

Rams: Jackson to be offensive centerpiece
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Jan. 6 - 10:57 a.m. ET
Coach Scott Linehan intends to make Steven Jackson the "centerpiece" of the Rams' offense in 2008.
It's not a bad idea considering the Rams' receivers are aging, Isaac Bruce may not be back, and Jackson is their best player. Jackson's diminished role in the passing game in 2007 was perplexing. He's entering a contract year, so St. Louis could be open to signing Jackson long term this offseason.
