Steven Jackson - RB - Rams

Steven Jackson says he is "100 percent" healthy after nursing minor groin and ankle injuries during OTA season.
We wouldn't even know if he practiced in 7-on-7s because Rams reporters took the spring off. Jackson, who's in a contract year, says he's "looking to...lengthen my career with St. Louis. Hopefully, I’ll retire as a Ram." There shouldn't be a more motivated running back in the league this season. Jul. 9 - 2:00 p.m. ET

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams

ESPN's NFL Live confirmed with the NFL that Steven Jackson could miss up to eight games and still maintain his status as an unrestricted free agent after this season.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has been reporting that Jackson would lose a credited season towards his unrestricted free agency if he didn't arrive at camp today, but as long as he shows up by week ten, he'll be credited for the current year. Aug. 5 - 4:57 p.m. ET

Haslett: S-Jax 'should be ready' for Week 9
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Oct. 27 - 5:05 p.m. ET
Rams coach Jim Haslett said Monday that Steven Jackson (quadriceps) "should be ready to go" in Week 9 against the Cardinals.
Haslett said Jackson "looked good" on Monday after sitting out in Week 8 and his injury was never thought to be a multi-week ordeal. Antonio Pittman fared well in place of Jackson at New England, but will go right back on the bench. Arizona's rush defense has been average, ranking 15th in yards per carry against and allowing five rushing touchdowns through seven games.

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams Jackson takes part as Rams start practice
Jackson has a good chance to practice fully all week and be limited in no way in Week 9 against Arizona. It's a big intradivision game for the 2-5 Rams. October 29 - 1:35 p.m. ET

Steven Jackson - RB - Rams S-Jax limited again, to be game-time decision
S-Jax saw increased reps at the start of practice, but did "nothing" in the second half of the workout and it sounds like the Rams shut him down. That doesn't seem to bode well. "It's the same (as last week)," coach Jim Haslett said. "We'll work him out right before the game, and hopefully he'll be able to go." The game has a 1PM ET start, so we'll know whether Jackson or Antonio Pittman will start early. Check back Sunday morning. October 31 - 2:38 p.m. ET

Steven Jackson: 'I am playing. Be ready.'
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 1 - 5:59 p.m. ET
Steven Jackson announced on his personal website Saturday that he would play Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
We're sure the Rams love how Jackson got the news out. "I want to let you all know that the leg is feeling good enough for me to go on Sunday. This is a big game for us against Arizona, and I’m going to give everything I’ve got to get us a win," Jackson wrote. Fantasy owners should put him in their lineup against an average Arizona rush defense and check back with pregame inactives to confirm the news.

Steven Jackson continues to miss practice
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 6 - 1:13 p.m. ET
Steven Jackson (quadriceps) was not on the Rams' practice field Thursday.
Fantasy owners can't count on him against the Jets. He has to fully practice Friday for a chance. We'll continue to update his participation throughout the day, but Kenneth Darby and Samkon Gado will split work if Jackson is out.

Steven Jackson highly unlikely for Week 10
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 6 - 3:28 p.m. ET
After missing Thursday's practice in its entirety, Steven Jackson (quads) admitted it will take "something miraculous" for him to practice Friday and play in Week 10 against the Jets.
Jackson revealed he had an MRI Monday that showed inflammation in his thigh and the injury has gotten worse since last week. "One day I feel great, I feel like I can," he said. "And then when it’s time for me to show on the field that I am ready, it’s not responding." Ken Darby and Samkon Gado shared reps with the first team Thursday and will likely split carries on Sunday.

S-Jax doesn't practice, may miss Week 11 too
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 7 - 1:04 p.m. ET
Steven Jackson (quads) wasn't on the Rams' practice field again on Friday and is expected to miss Week 10 against the Jets.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that S-Jax could miss "another week or two" after this. Antonio Pittman (hamstring) did some work Friday and may join the tailback rotation with Ken Darby and Samkon Gado against the Jets. It's unclear which back will start, but look elsewhere for fantasy options.

Steven Jackson unlikely to face the Niners
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 13

Steven Jackson missed practice in its entirety Thursday and admitted he's taken "a step backwards" in his recovery from a strained quadriceps.
Coach Jim Haslett was even less optimistic: "He’s going to have to run before he can play. I doubt if we will have him (in Week 11), to be honest with you." Look for Antonio Pittman to draw the start against the 49ers and get 16-18 touches. Travis Minor will probably play on most third downs. Clearly, S-Jax should not have tried to play in Week 9. It's worsened his injury.

Steven Jackson ruled out, will see specialist
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 14 - 2:09 p.m. ET
Steven Jackson will not make the Rams' team flight to San Francisco for Week 11. Antonio Pittman will start for St. Louis.
Jackson will see a specialist to find out why his quadriceps muscle hasn't responded to treatment. He is considered week to week and says two MRIs revealed no tear in the thigh. Pittman isn't used in the passing game and would be a weak play in PPR leagues, but should get goal-line chances and 16-18 carries. Travis Minor will likely fill in on third downs against the 49ers.

Rams rule out Steven Jackson for Week 12
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 18
Steven Jackson (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Week 12.
It's a bad sign the Rams did this so early. Jackson visited a specialist over the weekend who discovered "a little bit of blood in (the thigh)," coach Jim Haslett said. "They feel he should be out this week, and rest him, and see what happens next week." Antonio Pittman will start in an unpredictable matchup vs. Chicago. S-Jax owners can't be expecting production soon.

Haslett is 'optimistic' Jackson will return
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 24 - 6:32 p.m. ET
Coach Jim Haslett says Steven Jackson (quads) "looked good" in workouts on Saturday and Monday and is "optimistic" S-Jax will play in Week 13.
"I’m optimistic, but I’m not really sure what that means because we’ve said that for the last three or four weeks," Haslett said. It sounds like Jackson will try to practice on Wednesday. Keep track of the situation this week.

S-Jax is expected to play barring setbacks
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 28 - 4:02 p.m. ET
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Steven Jackson (questionable, quads) will be active Sunday against Miami barring "an unforeseen setback between now and the noon kickoff."
If so, coach Jim Haslett has reneged on his vow to make Jackson practice a full day before using him again. Reporter Bill Coats says Jackson "probably" will start over Antonio Pittman. That may depend on how S-Jax looks in warmups and early in the game. Consider Jackson a high-end RB2 if he's up.

Report: S-Jax should get 16-17 carries vs MIA
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Nov. 30 - 11:01 a.m. ET
ESPN's John Clayton reports that Steven Jackson (quads) should be healthy enough to get 16-17 carries Sunday against Miami.
Clayton expects Jackson to play and says he should be "pretty effective" despite being slightly less than 100 percent. Jackson has reportedly been getting his explosion back. He should be in fantasy lineups for now, but check back in a half hour to make certain Jackson is active.

Haslett: Jackson came through the game OK
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Dec. 1 - 5:24 p.m. ET
Rams coach Jim Haslett reiterated Monday that Steven Jackson's thigh was sore late in Sunday's loss, but said S-Jax "came through (the game) OK."
This is highly encouraging. "The plan was to give him about 15-18 touches, and try to go on third down with (Kenneth) Darby," Haslett said. "He had 21 touches. He got a couple of more than he was supposed to get." Jackson didn't have a setback and should be ready for Week 14 at the Cardinals. The Rams host Seattle and San Francisco in favorable matchups after that.

Rams plan to increase Steven Jackson's load
Steven Jackson - RB - STL - Dec. 3 - 7:34 p.m. ET
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams plan to increase Steven Jackson's workload in Week 14.
S-Jax (quads) had a limited practice Wednesday, but will likely practice in full by Friday and is almost certain to start his second straight game. "He looked good to me today, so we’ll add some of the reps," coach Jim Haslett said. "But he’ll get back in the swing of things full-go here." Jackson is back to being an RB1 play. St. Louis visits the Cardinals in Week 14.
