When you're looking at stats on the days given goalie, do you look at a goalies road vs home stat or just his stats overall (GAA or SV%)? Just curious as to the groups approach. Mine has been road vs home, but it's a harder stat to get than overall and sometimes I'm not so sure if I'm getting current info.
Thanks all and BOL!! ![]() larz |

Larz,
For me I focus about 80%on the covers.com "print sheet" for L-5 and Home vs Away. I take the history between into consideration as well and a couple of other stats. PL |

It's a double edged sword really. If you concentrate too much on overall stats then you'll be blinded by upward/downward trend of how a team has been currently playing. If you look too much at the last few games it might show the goalie just had a few bad games although his performance is better. You just have to find for yourself which one helps you the most combined with everything else you got going on. You might find it usefull to use the Home/Away stats while someone else like Pluslines finds it usefull to look at last few games with history. Everyone is different and there are many different ways to find winners.

Thanks guys, and I believe you're both right (how's that for walking the fence?).
Here's my reason for the question. Frustration breeds necessity and now I'm working on building a new excel spreadsheet for how I personally cap hockey for all the math functions (moving from pencil/paper method to a modern way) and being able to make fast changes when I find out there's been a goalie change from when I looked originally. There's tons of locations that have the goalies overall sv%, but it's very limited for their split stats on a single screen of their home vs away % stats. I can go through certail locations and get their individual records and enter it manually but that's VERY time consuming and thus defeats the whole purpose of this exercise. Luckily I enjoy this sort or thing and the vodka/cran is close by! ![]() Thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it! BOL to all!! larz |
