Already without Mike Ricci, leading scorer Mike Comrie and center Steve Reinprecht, Coyotes team officials revealed Friday that captain Shane Doan will miss 2 to 3 weeks with a lingering back injury. He has just four goals in 11 games after scoring a career-best 30 last season.
Comrie, the Coyotes` leading scorer with 11 points, is sidelined until early December with a broken foot. Reinprecht, who scored all five of his points this season in a season-opening win against the New York Islanders, has been out since Oct. 15 with a broken right collarbone.
Ricci hasn`t played since suffering a neck injury in preseason, but could be back in three weeks.
Phoenix had a season-low 13 shots Thursday in a 1-0 loss to Dallas. It was the third time this season the Coyotes have been shut out this season, matching their total in 2005-06.
The San Jose Sharks continue a four-game road trip Saturday with a visit to Jobing.com Arena. The Coyotes are +197 underdogs and the total is set at 6.
