Default Rangers Tonight

I like the value in this one. I didn't think the Rangers played all that badly in game one. Plus I think buffalo might be in for bit of a letdown tonight. Rangers on the moneyline +160. I'm liking the under 5 goals in the Ana/Van game but I'll probably pass on that one. Vancouver can't score, but Anaheim can rack up the goals by themselves, Luongo I think will be much better though. He better be or this series is over very quickly.

rangers are waaaaaaay toooooooo slow for the sabres as we will see int his series - which won't be a long one. would rather lay -1.5 before i take NYR here

I'm affraid I'm going to have to agree with the duck. The Rangers have a slight chance, but if Sabres go up 2-0 tonight, like I think they will, Rangers only get one game in the series, that one being at home.

I agree w/ Redstorm, and I'm a Ranger fan, and a former season ticket holder. Loyalty doesn't trump reality here.

Sometimes it sucks to be right. And I didn't bet it, either.

I honestly thought even after the fact, that the Rangers were the right play, they badly outplayed buffalo for stretches of this game but once again they didn't get any breaks, plus Miller stood on his head. There's no doubt in my mind if the Rangers keep playing this way they'll steal a game or two at home. I was a lot more surprised the Ducks went down at home to Vancouver but the under in that game was never in doubt. Anyways I'll probably roll with the Rangers again in game 3. I'm liking both home teams today though.

Oh man that was a close win boys. Detroit was almost down 2-0 against the sharks. I'm feelin' a little bit better now though. I'm feeling good about New Jersey tonight. Marty was off to a bad start. Almost every goal Ottawa made was to his glove side. I think he was just having an off day. I believe he'll pull out the stops tonight. It'll be a close one, but then again, I haven't seen any blowouts in the second round yet, unless you call the Buffalo/Rangers first game a blowout. NJ will be stronger tonight.

Yeah, that was a nice comeback win, I had all but given up on them after the first period. I think the Sharks take this series though, they're bigger and more physical and I'd even say hungrier. Mike Grier has been a big x-factor in this series. I definitely under-estimated the Sharks coming into this series. I'd be surprised if Detroit won this series, I've done a 180 on this series despite the win by Detroit this afternoon, but you never know. As for the Ottawa/NJ game, hell of a game, Ottawa deserved a better fate even though in my hockey pool I had NJ. There's no doubt in my mind Ottawa will prevail in the series if they play like that the rest of the way. They completely dominated NJ after the first period. I liked Ottawa before this series started and I like "em even more now despite the loss tonight.

Yep, you can't under estimate the sharks they are a strong team. And Detroit always kicks butt in the regular season, but then chokes most of the time during the playoffs. Last year perfect example. At least they are in the second round this year. I agree that the sharks look more impressive in the series. But I believe Detroit can steal one in San Jose. If they come back to Detroit tied at 2-2 I'll be happy.

The Jersey game, well all I can say is, Marty play'd like a champ...wish the rest of the team would follow his lead. He made 43 saves of 45 and still almost lost the game. Jersey protected the goal really well in the first period. I even saw some diving blocks by the devils. Then the second period came and man did they look like a totally different team. You just can't play defense in the playoffs, you got to play the whole spectrum of the game. Glad they won, but they got lucky, cuz that surely wasn't a deserved win!

You guys see Marty with the new glove? He must've thought it had something to do with game 1 too!

Munson Now's your chance to jump on the rangers!!!

Yeah Marty looked sharp last night, he's the only reason I think NJ has a slight chance at winning this series. I'm still not too sold on Emery, he was solid last night but I've yet to see any Luongo-esque performance from him in the post-season. NJ also looked tired to me, especially in the third, but your right, sitting on leads is a very bad idea. Part of the reason why the sharks went down yesterday as well. I don't know why teams do it, especially against high-powered offenses like Ottawa and Detroit.

Anyway, not as confident as I was a couple days ago, but I'm rolling with the Rangers who are actually favored in this game. For what it's worth I think the Ducks regain home ice tonight with a win up in Vancouver.

I'm all about Buffalo, but I think the Rangers take one of these home games. I think they have a better chance today rather than the 4th game. I'll follow you on the Ducks tonight. They should have won the other night!

Good call on game 3 RS! It took 2 OT's, but I NEVER want my teams to get swept in the playoffs. I was at the AHL playoff game here, and was wearing my Ranger sweater, and "several" peoplecould be heard cheering when they posted the final 2-1 NY.

Penguins beat the Admirals huh? Good game? Me, I watch the river rats myself. From where I live it's 1.5 hrs to either venue, but I like the rats cuz they're cheaper. WB/S always winning though. Didn't want to say before, but I'm hoping for a Detroit Buffalo final. Detroit's my team though, but I watched quite a few of those buffalo guys when they played in the AHL so I like to follow. I saw Miller and Gaustad play when they were with the Americans...and I've also seen Gaustad play when he was with the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL a while back. Not a true follower, it just happens to be that he's been wherever I go. So it's cool to follow.

Anyways fellas, Had no problems seeing NY beat Buffalo today, but didn't know it would go as far as 2 OT's. Didn't see that coming. Didn't actually see the game. Watched the Anaheim game though Was a pretty decent. Went back and forth the whole time. I enjoyed it. Looked like J.S. couldn't follow the puck with that mask tonight. He was all over the place. I've seen him keep better than that. But it's turning out to be a better match up than I anticipated. Vancouver's looking quite impressive even though they're down now, I think they might take this 6 or even 7 perhaps.

GO WINGS!!!!

I gotta say that Vancouver looked a lot better than I thought they would. Just when you think you got it figured out then wham. Anaheim was outplayed badly in the first period but came out tied. Pronger turning over the puck didn't help, but in fairness that's something that's uncharacteristic of him.

Luongo wasn't bad but that first goal he gave up was terrible, kinda reminded me of the second Hasek goal on Saturday. In the end though, Vancouver only scored two goals. I can't see them winning too many games in this series scoring only two goals, but they did look better offensively that's for sure. I'm still going to ride the Ducks in this series, but my confidence level went down a bit tonight. I'm rolling with both home teams tommorow though.

You take the home teams, I'm gonna fade you. I'll take Detroit and NJ both on the road. I have confidence that both keepers can stop the shots.

What happened to the Rats' rink for the playoffs? I saw they played Hershey at a neutral site for some reason? Yeah, we scored w/ 2:30 to go on a goalmouth scramble, good game, and we get the Bears this week. I'll be at game 3 Sat. Still rooting for Wings-RANGERS in the final!

Redstorm, did you know that the last Cup Final featuring 2 original 6 teams was the 1979 series between Montreal and New York?

Didn't know that till just now. Guess it wouldn't be bad to have a Wings/Rangers original teams final....but I gotta warn you, Detroit would take the series no prob. Just did some research of my own. See 1937 and 1950 series.

I know, I know. That 1950 Ranger finalist team was probably the best shot they had during the whole 54 year drought.

After seeing the first three games of each round 2 series here's my picks for the East and West Conf. Finals fellas: Buffalo v. Ottawa and Anaheim v. San Jose. As much as I hate to say it, Detroit just doesn't have enough to get past San Jose. Last Night....just disappointing!!! My heart Bleeds Wings but my head (common sense) tells me Sharks!!!! They're just playing Bad! Dammit!!!!
