i have ducks +115 to win this series so no reason for me to play this game tonite
at this price - wings look tempting but i don't know how much they are stillt hinking about pissing away G5 sunday this game should be UNREAL and one of the best games of the season all i will say is for those thinking of playing the total: frequently teams losing by a goal late in the game where if they lose their season will end pull the goalie earlier than usual - meaning an ENG by the other team is a realistic possibility - also meaning laying -1.5 is a lot more likely to cash in a game like this because of the greater chances of an ENG ALSO let's say the wings trail 2-1 late - and give up an ENG. because a loss will end their season even though they are down 3-1 they will STILL pull the goalie because if they don't score 2 their season is done - thus the chances of TWO ENG is very realistic - thus pushing this one OVER 4.5. see G7 of Van/Dal for proof honestly - no clue here what to do because this is gonna eb a great game and whatever happens won't shock me at all. wish i could "repay" you for all the GREAT WNBA winners you have tossed my way - but i can't and would rather tell you this than "force" a play that would be a coin toss at best |

This series has befuddled me quite frankly, although I thought the Wings were the right play in game 5, all that matters is the scoreboard. If you have the Ducks to wins this series, a hedge might not be a bad idea. Great value on the Wings tonight. Ducks should wrap it up tonight but I wouldn't touch that game with a 10 foot pole. |

How about the puck that just slid wide w/ about 1-1/2 minutes left that could have tied it? It was great theatre, the whole 3rd period really, and the Wings probably wish they could have brought the desperation they played with there for the whole 60 minutes. Congrats again, Winky.

I made a bigger than normal wager (2 units) on the over last night and missed most of the action because I went to sleep. I was Very pleased to see the final score this morning. It was 1-0 when I went away. Sucked I had to go to bed. I think the NHL playoffs are my fav sport followed by college football and then the rest.

Unfortunately most people are clueless. I am tired of hearing idiots tell me hockey is boring. I guess sometimes the most obvious things can't be seen. I don't know if there is a sport that is better to watch in person than hockey.

and therein lies the problem of all the 4 major sports (and once again calling the NHL a "major sport" is a reach") the NHL is the WORST sport for TV - even with HD. people who don't know the game have trouble following the puck - while at the game they don't. the NFL is MUCH better on TV while MLB and NBA are a push there is NOTHING better than a Stanley Cup playoff game - let alone the finals. NHL fans are a LOT more passionate about their sport than any other ones. how many times do you see fans of the other 3 waving towels before the game and yelling as loud as they can? NEVER! go to a regular season game between, say, Ducks/Kings and it is 1 game out of 82 - no biggie. BUT - put those teams in the playoffs and NOW face them off and look out. for those who have been to ANY playoff game - the SECOND you enter the arena you feel the tension in the building and there is NOTHING better than Playoff OT hockey where the game could last 10 seconds or 10 minutes or 30 minutes or 80 minutes or........... and unlike the other 3 - the game can end at ANY TIME - whereas in MLB we need to play both halves of an inning or the NBA with a 5-min OT that takes longer than a 20-minute NHL OT to play there are a core group of people who KNOW the NHL RULES and we love it. the rest are missing out. i play hoops with the guys a few times a week and they all insist the NBA playoffs are better and tell me i am crazy for loving the SC playoffs so much. they are the clueless ones but will never be told otherwise - their loss if G6 of ducks/wings had been translated into a NBA game they'd be talking about it being one of the greatest games EVER - instead few people saw it - their loss |

Winky, I had season tickets for 4 years in the early 80's at Madison Square Garden, and I can attest to all that you say. We used to scream at the top of our lungs DURING THE ENTIRE NATIONAL ANTHEM! Once against the Island, fans were throwing dead fish at the goalie Smith, not emulating the Wings' fans octupi, but using the old Mafia warning to a guy about to be whacked! It was unbelievable, the energy in that building.

i wish i could - but i can't. my past one was some babe naked from the waist down with a straw leading from "home plate" into a glass or OJ. that is until Jennifer Korbin saw it and made it very clear she didn't like that one at all. normally i don't give a "F" what people like but she was right - for a forum like this it was wrong. so i changed to a headshot of her - for the time being

I can't recall watching a sport where my picture is vibrating because of the frenzy people are in at the arena. I believe it was either the Western Conference Finals or Stanley Cup Finals where my picture was vibrating like crazy. The fans in Edmonton were absolutely going mad in there. I just knew watching that game that it would be impossible for Edmonton to lose. They looked possessed going up & down the ice & the crowd was surreal. No sport can bring that emotion like hockey. I will never forget watching epic games especially those multiple OT thrillers. I forgot who the Penguins were playing but the game went on forever. Lets not forget the Dallas-Buffalo multiple OT thriller. Man great tv, & I can only imagine live. I have never gone to a playoff game. I can only imagine how much I am missing out as I love going during the preseason & regular season. |

as for the last line - we have known each other for about 5.5 years and are good friends - she has told me some BIG TIME stuff she tells no one else knowing i will keep it between us. i choose to say very little about her in public and won't start now as for EGD - YOU GOTTA go see a playoff game in person - the later the game/round the better i have been to several playoff games including G4 of the 2003 finals - ducks/devils the game went to OT SCORELESS and t was obvious midway thru 2P that 1 goal might win it. ducks scored real early in OT - within the first few minutes and i wanna say 39 sec into it - but not sure all i know is it took less than 5 minutes - and when the home team scores an OT winner that place is deafening - as opposed to when the road team scores it - the place is "deafeningly quiet" |
