the rule changes and preseaon scores is making for a love fest with these overs. MN and Calgary could play 3 games and not score over 5 goals. i see some nice nice nice under overlays all over this board. goal inflation! |

impossible to say, I don't think anybody really knows what will happen. Books could take a bath. Heard the minors took up these rules and have had a huge increase in goals... |

Good point, trytrytry! The avg in goals scored will definitely increase but it might take a few weeks. In pre-season, coaching staff is trying to evaluate their roster, particularly their rookies. So all the lines are rotating on the power play. Will take a few weeks for the PP special teams to develop and settle. Goalies seemed to have handled the equipment and angles pretty well. And defensemen and forwards don't take full advantage of the 'no more red line' rule. At 5.5 and 6, the lines are quite low. But it is easier to develop defense than offense so the teams might not be ready to score as much as expected. M$M |
