FAC STANLEY CUP FINALS THREAD

Well the rematch is here. This series will be much more competitive than it was last year and I also think we will see a different outcome.

Pittsburgh wont have the deer in the headlights look that they had in the first 2 games last year in Detroit where they got blanked and looked like an IHL team rather than a team in the Stanley Cup Finals. We have seen it many many times how a team has to get to the championship one time and experience everything that is involved in losing before they are ready to win.

Detroit by no means will just let Pittsburgh walk over them. This has all the makings of a 7 game series considering last year went 6 and Pittsburgh really wasnt competitive in 3 of those games. Wings are a little banged up and thats why I think the line is so low on them. Personally I am very disappointed in the series price lines. I was looking for Pittsburgh to be at around +140 to +145 range.

Also, I dont do this often but props to The NHL for having enough sense to move this series up and not letting these teams sit around for 9-10 days waiting for the finals to start.

Wings are the better, deeper team. The question is the injuries (Datsyuk and Lidstrom). If the Wings play their puck possession game, the PEns will have trouble. The other area of trouble for PIT is the defence. The PIT defence will look slow (Hal Gill), and the forgotten injury to Sergei Gonchar (the PIT PP QB). Crosby, Malkin and Fleury have to be on their game each game this series.
