Rick DiPietro earned his 100th NHL victory with an 18-save effort last night and the New York Islanders beat the New York Rangers for the third time this season, 2-1. DiPietro, the first goalie ever drafted No. 1 when the Islanders took the Massachusetts native in 2000, followed up a 1-0 win Friday against New Jersey with another stellar performance against Long Island's biggest rival. The Islanders are 8-1-2 in their last 11 against the Rangers, and now have 500 road wins in franchise history. DiPietro earned his 12th victory over New York and snapped the Rangers' winning streak at five. Panthers 4, Capitals 3 WASHINGTON - Olli Jokinen had two goals and Florida beat Washington to end a four-game road losing streak. David Booth and Kamil Kreps also scored for Florida, which beat Washington for the second time in less than a week. Tomas Vokoun, who was in the net for the Panthers' 2-1 win over the Capitals on Nov. 15, made 27 saves in this victory. Thrashers 4, Lightning 3 ATLANTA - Todd White scored a power-play goal with 2 minutes, 11 seconds left in overtime to give Atlanta the win over Tampa Bay. Ilya Kovalchuk had his NHL-best 17th goal for the Thrashers, who withstood another terrific effort by Vincent Lecavalier to earn their third straight win. Senators 4, Canadiens 2 MONTREAL - Dany Heatley had a goal and two assists and Jason Spezza added three assists in Ottawa's win over Montreal. Patrick Eaves, Chris Neil and Chris Kelly also scored for Ottawa, which had lost two of four after getting off to a 13-1-0 start. Martin Gerber stopped 36 shots for his league-leading 13th win in 15 starts. The Canadiens honored Hall of Fame defenseman Larry Robinson prior to the game. Robinson became the 13th Montreal player to have his number retired by the team when his No. 19 was hoisted to the rafters in a pregame ceremony. Blues 2, Predators 1 ST. LOUIS - Paul Kariya had a goal and an assist against his former team, leading St. Louis over Nashville. Stars 3, Kings 0 DALLAS - Steve Ott scored a rare goal, and Mike Smith stopped 22 shots for his fourth career shutout to send Dallas over Los Angeles. Ott, known more as a checker and instigator, notched the 12th of his career in 214 games in the second period to put Dallas in front. Stars, Lightning trade. Dallas acquired defenseman Bryce Lampman from Tampa Bay, the first trade by the Stars since firing their general manager last week and making Brett Hull a co-general manager. The Stars sent defenseman Mario Scalzo to Tampa Bay. Canucks call up Brown. Vancouver Canucks sent speedy forward Jannik Hansen to Manitoba of the American Hockey League and called up tough winger Mike Brown. Ducks pick up Sutherby. Defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim acquired center Brian Sutherby from the Washington Capitals for a second-round draft pick in the 2009 NHL entry draft.
