For game 6 tonight, in Germany, Cash Point has DET at 2.45 (I know where my money will go today) with PIT at 2.35 and the tie for regulation at 3.80. I am thinking that DET will be the play, but yet again I might even think about a covered call here to cover the DET bet with a PIT bet. The danger would be another OT game, but I don't see that happening tonight. Wings should finish them off, like Dallas and Nashville before them, in their own building. |

Thanks Munson! It feels great. Nice to win some money along the way. I am wearing my Red Wings shirt and hat to the office here in Germany today (they'd wear their stuff if Germany where in the final for the Europe Cup!). So I am glad it was done in regulation time, and I will cash my ticket. The bookmakers here don't follow US sports that closely it seems so there could be some money to be made baseball. Would love to hear some of your insight here Bud. So my favorite teams have won this year in hockey and baseball. What a great year! |

Don't know if you saw the game, I was at our AHL Finals here (we lost) and only saw the highlights. The Wings were the better team throughout, once Osgood replaced Hasek they were on their way, but as is often the case with a veteran team, they needed a breather here and there, hence the surprising losses in some of the home clinch situations. As far as insight on baseball, there are plenty of cappers in that room, I only play systems and follow Culver when he posts. We should compare prices to see how far off those bookmakers are in Germany. How do you say 'Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings' in deutsch? |

yep, congrats to the wings and their backers.. i backed the penguins in every round for the same amount, so they were good to me in the playoffs, overall.. but the wings were the winners and the correct betting choice... |

Well done SSI. I had Pens going out early in the playoffs and they proved me wrong. So, your faith in them was well placed, and they made this more of a series and showed a lot of character fighting back to win Game 5 when they could have easily given up. Crosby et el have a bright future. We'll see if they sign Hossa which may be a big mistake (putting too many eggs in offensive basket). As they likely saw with Detroit, Defence wins championships (although Pronger and Niedermayer in Anaheim didn't help them much)... |
