Just so you know maybe you didn't, Stl is more than likely starting their backup goalie against Clb's best. And there's definitely a reason Toivonen is the back-up and it's not because of politics if you get what i'm saying.

GL Munson. Do you bet all sports? DO you bet every night? For me, I generally only do sports that I feel I have a good handle on. Like college basketball for me is throwing darts (altho I was happy to see Shrink's pick last night on ODU). College football is the same. But hockey and NFL I feel comfortable with. After the NFL season is over, I will likely shut down the offshore account until Fall, but we'll see. I would personally rather stick to what I know than throw $$ at trends and hunches. Thoughts?

Very legitimate question, Newbie! I handicap NFL and MLB with some proficiency, but the baskets and college sports have eluded me. The main excuse I can give is lack of time. I always felt that college sports would spread me too thin with so many teams to analyze. And my luck in the NBA was always atrocious. Or maybe my handicapping was.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's, I cleaned up on a small scale (my bankroll was small) in the NHL to the extent that one local wouldn't take my action. When hockey went to OT play, I lost my edge. I LOVED the old puck lines, don't know if you ever saw them. It would read Rangers 1-1-1/2 goals. If you wanted the favored Rangers, you laid 1.5 goals. If you took the dog, you got just 1 goal. For some reason, I always seemed to come out on the right side of the 1/2 puck and did really well.

With the present day money lines, I'm not nearly as good, as this thread proves. To answer your question, I do gamble year round as the pursuit of scalps and middles keep me busy in the sports that I don't cap very well.
