| YTD: 6-2, +8u Had no time to post my picks last night but did manage to have another profitable day going 2-1. Today I love the card, but will try not to go overboard. LETS GO DOGS!!! * All plays for 2u units today. Chicago/Nashville Over 6 (-120) Two teams with big name goalies, but either of them have been performing anywhere close to what people had expected coming into the season. Vokoun for Nashville is 0-2-0 to begin the year, with a pathetic 6.67 Goals against average. Nashville's defense is banged up, but I see them offense coming out firing, trying hard to pick up their first W of the young season. On the other side the Blackhawks goalie Nikolai Khabibulin is off to one of his worst starts with a 5.59 goals against average. The Blackhawks have scored 12 goals while surrendering 11 over their first two games, picking up a 1-1-0 record. This all spells over in my opinion. Boston Bruins (-105) Playing at home is not going to be enough for the Blues to pick up their first win of the season. This line is so low based on the Blues recent success against the Bruins. These teams are playing on two different levels right now and their is a clear difference in class here. The Bruins will be starting Tim Thomas in goal tonight, and I expect big things from him this season. The Blues are not a high scoring team, and I expect Boston to sneak a few past Manny Legacy who has been allowing 4.46 goals per game. The Blues have converted just one of 16 power play oppurtunities on the season. I except Boston to pull out a win in a hard faught game. To add motivation to the Bruins side, St.Louis's GM has guarenteed a win by his team tonight.. GO BRUINS!! Edmonton Oilers (+105) Edmonton will once again try to play spoilers to San Jose, this time not in as big of a way. SJ has started off the season 3-0-0 and will have revenge on their mind heading into this game as the Oilers eliminated them from the playoffs last season by winning 4 straight after the Sharks took the first two games of the series. Both goalies have looked sharp so far this season, but I would give the advantage to Roloson and the Oilers in this spot. Ryan Smyth needs 3 points to reach 500 for his career. I don't think he will get all three tonight, but I would not be surprised if he picked up 2. The Oilers should pull out a tight win at home in this one behind a strong showing from Roloson. Pittsburgh Penguins (+192) No way in hell the Penguins should be this big of an underdog to the Rangers. Crosby may have a bruised hand but he is back near 100% and will be in the line-up tonight. Fleury has been doing a solid job between the pipes for Pitt thus far shuting out the Flyers, and allowing only 2 goals against a hot Red Wings squad. On the other hand, Lundqvist does have a 2-1-0 record this year, but he is allowing 3.28 goals per game. The Rangers are high scoring team, but Pitt has stepped up its defense this year, and especially its penalty kill as they have not had a goal scored against them in 12 short handed situations. I like the odds the Penguins are getting in this one. Leans: Maple Leafs, Flames, and Capitals. |

| Pittsburgh Penguins (+192) $$$$$$$$$$$ Wow, talk about a nice win here. Nothing like having a fellow Nova Scotian score the game winner on a power play with 3 second left... Now I need the Bruins to hang on, and Edmonton to pull out a win.. Anyone have any opinion on the Oilers game? Noticed the line moved from +105 to -107... |
