there shouldnt be a rollover...its pretty clear bodog is a branded name...if people are allowed to withdraw any and all funds no questions asked without any problems...they will most likely return in the future knowing how they were treated in regards to the wwts buyout...

just my 2cents...

Let me get this straight. These Chicken Shvt fvcks from WWTS had 3 million - accounts receivable of 7 million and owe only 9 million and they cannot think of a way to pay the customers?

This freaking law does not go into effect for 270 days! Not one of these brainless idiots from this company thought of the we will not accept checks, credit cards, or wires from the USA due to the new legislation but we will accept deposits from third party payments systems such as Neteller and person to person transfers from Western Unions and money grams.

Time for Neteller to step up to the plate and defend their business or all the offshores will be teats up!!!!

Bodog is not getting much out of this deal. The customers they are getting were only at WWTS because they could get a good bonus promotion. There was no other reason to be there. Their lines for the last year sucked. They were not competitive in any way. They came out late and let everybody else take the hits. They never offered a good buy back number and they were the super clone of all clones that spent more time avoiding taking bets than they ever spent trying to get a bet. They kept some customers because of the previous owner's reputation.

All the current ownership is interested in is keeping the postup funds and the rest of the receivables they have rat holed that they don't want to give up to pay customers. So, they keep the post up money and run. Pretty short sighted. They could have paid everybody if they wanted to. Nobody disrespects 365 - they have a future. Why a non USA customer would do business with this company now would be a mystery. They are dead - they are buried - they can never be trusted again. This company is not worth 34 cents a share - they are toast!

NOt so fast. Gambling911.com has an article stating that 'customers can expect their monies early next week'. I Wouldn't count on wagering through them this weekend...

Re: BODOG ACQUIRES BETWWTS FOR 3 MILLION DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET CASH

I have been informed that gamblers balances will be available to them as soon as this deal becomes LEGAL and all the "I's" dotted and "T's" crossed...

Calvin Aire from Bodog did tell me the following,

"I do not see anyone betting at WWTS from the US this weekend."

"However, the player balances are going to be protected so there will be no scandal at the end of the day."

I suspect an "official" announcement to be made later today...

See like I said no wagering this weekend at wwts. So what he meant is all players will be moved to Calvins brand and wwts will go poof like magic. Judging from betcorp stock movement there is a deal the stock closed up 57% but if things fail it will go down 75% on Monday.

More than likely, US players get their money back, and will have to xfer their accts by themselves to bodog. It's less hassle for them to xfer all the funds when the users can do it. Sigh, another weekend of lost opportunity ahead. CRAP!

Re: BODOG ACQUIRES BETWWTS FOR 3 MILLION DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET CASH

Aldo,

You were correct that there will not be any wagering done this weekend and that's a shame. Each weekend that passes without an "official" announcement from BETWWTS makes players worried and frustrated...

I thought that both parties would do everything in their power to resolve this before the Football games went off this weekend, but I was sadly mistaken...

But, on the most important issue regarding PLAYER ACCOUNTS- they are safe, protected, and gamblers will be able to withdraw or transfer to Bodog very soon...

We can only SPECULATE on many of the details until a Press Release comes out...

No Calvin is not that dumb your balances will be moved to a Bodog existing or new account. A sportsbook buyer rather you gamble with your balance than pay it in full.

I think Monday is a more likely target date for any announcement since it gives both parties to look over the deal and there may also be a better deal put on the table but who knows.

Shrink, Monday may even be wrong too since Betcorp still needs to give final approval on the deal. All we know is a deal is done but not signed or approved yet.

Yea but any deal that is not signed yet is still no deal just like when UAL wanted to buy US Airways a few years ago. We are dealing with rules of the Austrailian stock exchange not some private owners from Antigua. The deal looks done considering betcorps stock rose 57% today.

It is an Info Technology nightmare to xfer all user accts to bodog. best way to handle this from their end is to liquidate all accts. I don't see why the just can't say 'WWTS' powered by bodog after sale completes. Am i amd I can't 'invest' this weekend, yes, but I am more pleased that my acct is 'safe'.

Betcorp shares surge on sale talk

<!--articleExtras-wrap--><BOD><b>SHARES in Betcorp staged a major recovery on Friday after reports emerged that the company has offloaded its US sports betting operation, WWTS, to a Costa Rican company for $US9 million ($12 million).</b>

The shares jumped 58 per cent, or 15c, to 41c, following the reports from US websites.

Not much was expected from the sale after UK-listed Sportingbet offloaded its US business for just $US1 last week.

The sale allowed it to discharge liabilities worth $US13.2 million and avoid a closure bill of $US14 million, it said.

<b>The rumoured buyer of the WWTS business is privately owned Costa Rican operation Bodog, which does not plan to comply with the US ban.</b>

Bodog.com founder Calvin Ayre said in a statement: "We've structured our business in such a way that we'll have no problems adapting to any changes in the online gaming environment. We see the future as very positive for Bodog.com."

Betcorp's US operation has been in suspension since last week, when US President George Bush signed legislation that effectively bans online gambling services.

Betcorp was expected to find a buyer by this weekend but officials were not available for comment on Friday.

The magnitude of the devastation visited upon the mostly UK-listed gambling stocks is now becoming apparent.

Sportingbet announced this week the ban would cost it a further ?210 million ($521 million), including goodwill writedowns and restructuring costs, on top of the massive loss of earnings. Sportingbet has shed ?1 billion in market value in the past year.

Chief executive Andrew McIver said the company retained "strong European and Australian businesses".

PartyGaming, the world's largest internet poker company, said the cost of exiting its US business would be about $US250 million in the December half.

"The impact of the recently passed legislation in the US has changed the shape of our business fundamentally," chief executive Mitch Garber said in a statement.

The company's market value has dropped to ?1.25 billion from more than ?9 billion at the end of 2005.

Betcorp is due to delist from the Australian Stock Exchange at the end of this month to concentrate on its UK listing.

Calvin from Bodog asked that I also make this statement...

Well, best wishes to Bodog. I hope they don't get ripped off by WWTS like the players did.

But, let's say they pay 1/2 of the players their money (4.5 million) and half of the players lose - they are not going to start making any money unil the redeposits from this block are 6-7 million or more. Is this going to be possible with the state of affairs the industry is in?

It seems to me that if Bodog had not come forward WWTS would have stolen the post up funds just like Big Nasa did. Now, that's a company you want to own stock in? They are probably such cheap bastards they won't even pay the non USA players their money if they want to cash in.

Agreed. It's not right...

Bucky,

I highly doubt that half the players will withdraw their money based on Bodog's reputation...

I'd guess 20%, and that figure may be high....

I am sure this particular topic was given careful consideration before the deal was made...

Wouldn't it have been fun to be a fly on the wall when this was being looked at?

XXX amount of playes

XX post up funds/volume

p/l from the block for the last 6 months, 12 months, 18 months

projections and simulations on the block for the next year.

What if this 9 million $ block of business wins 5 million on NFL sides like last year or breaks even - Let's add that on to the sales price and then Neteller goes teats up - 82 more companies go broke and bail - A Calvyn employee gets arrested in Hawaii on his way to OZ. Who gets hurt then - oh? - a new batch of post up clients???

Player post up funds end up being the pawn in everything. The bargaining tool. They don't even belong to the company but they have implied value because they can be stolen. Bodog is using player postup funds to buy WWTS. How much money do they have if they had to pay every customer tomorrow. Who TF is going to buy them out?

ANother weekend down the tubes...

MONDAY NOW, AND US CUSTOMERS REFUNDED AND 'encouraged' to go with BODOG.

BetCorp shares recover following announcement
Media in Australia reports that BetCorp shares staged a major recovery Friday after reports it had sold its US sports betting operation to a Costa Rican company for $US9 million ($A12 million).

<deletia>

The rumoured buyer of Betcorp's WWTS business is Bodog, which does not plan to comply with the US ban on online gambling services.

An announcement was originally slated for Friday afternoon but due to the time difference between North America and the Australian continent, news is more likely to come out some time Sunday Eastern Standard Time, beginning the new work week in Australia.

<deletia>

Bodog.com has since informed Gambling911 that $9 million would be paid for BetWWTS.com's European infrastructure and that all US customers would be paid in full and encouraged to bet with the Bodog.com brand. ---

Now this is a logical time frame for a deal to be completed.
10.20.2006 (03:35 PM CST)
Betcorp sale of Tasman Gaming Inc. and WWTS (SBR rating C-) to Bodog (SBR rating A+) now pending shareholder approval. Shareholders are scheduled to approve the sale of Betcorp subsidiary Tasman Gaming, which encompasses all of the group?s US-serving gaming brands, on November 15th. Betcorp CEO tells SBR that they are required to give shareholders three weeks notice before the meeting. This means player funds will remain frozen until the transfer is complete. Bodog will acquire Tasman for $9 million, with $3 million cash due at the time of transfer and four subsequent installment payment of $1.5 million each.
