It means that they will redflag a bettor they consider a risk to their profit line.
When they put you in this category, you will get different lines when you log in from the average gambler.
(this is how it has been explained to me)
But it makes no sense unless the bodog has extremely efficient software that will be able to guess what games you will most likely play and put out adjusted lines on those games..
(simply because you cant just give a player a -8.5 on when every one is getting a -7.5....What if the player ends up taking the otherside..(+8.5) you have just given him two free half points...)

I think its mostly a crock!!! Unless you have a really unhealthy addiction for dogs!!! Then the book can can take some risk and issue you bad lines.
I have read some pretty convincing posts about dual lines on some forums where two people confirmed that they were being dealt different lines while logged in at the same time with a book..
No matter the case, there is only so much a book can do to beat you with a phone half point here or there. (Half points affect such a small percentage of your wagers..) I am not saying they are not important, lord knows the other day i had a 6.5 line where the game ended right at 6 giving me a winning night i was dying for.

During the NCAA Tournament last year my buddy and I had our accounts open and signed in at the same time in separate windows on my computer, and the lines were often a 1 point difference.

Seems to me like the run it like a good bookie would -- got a guy always taking the favorites? shade the line towards the dog everytime he calls.
There's nothing dishonest about it -- if nothing else it creates a book that gives out some rogue lines. If you're "profiled" as an underdog bettor, only bet favorites at Bodog, and you'll likely get a slightly better line than others are getting.
There's a lot of shitty stuff that goes on in the offhsore world, but I think things like this are just running an efficient book -- I'd do them if I booked.

what devil said. dual lines should give you an edge. i don't see anything unethical about a bookmaker dealing them. if you don't like a price you're dealt, hammer them the other way or shop somewhere else.

Yeah, don't bother...I got the donkey lines for about 5 whole bets before they shut me off...if you play some into the clone market numbers then you might last longer, but I just picked off the soft numbers & got booted very quickly...they aren't even worth signing up with if you have a clue & a pulse...

If there was nothing wrong with it why don't they disclose what they are doing to the public. At the very least it is sneaky. You want to defend this practice, that doesn't surprise me, but I'm not prepared to say its ethical. You know Meyer Lansky the father of the gambling industry in this country insisted, at the threat of great physical injury, that his joints be run honestly and above board. Now the so called watchdogs of the industry, such as eog, throw in with some pretty deceptive shit.

Tons of book do this. Even good ole WWTS (prior Bodog) had dual lines.

You guys are brainwashed lemmings. I know the industry ain't run by the boy scouts but obviously the notion of "honor among theives" is unknown to the posters around here. I suppose you can exploit some angle with "dual lines" but it's a slimy practice probably appropriate for how the gambling industry has evolved or devolved depending on your point of view.

I think my favorite post was the one where you called everyone in the thread "brainwashed lemmings." You don't have to be a wiseguy to figure dual lines can give a player an advantage. You don't have to be a sharp to take advantage of a square bettor who doesn't mind laying an extra half point on favorites. You don't have to be a wiseguy, sharp, or even that smart to realize you are a toolshed.
