JUST CONFIRMED SKYBOOK LET GO MOST OF THEIR EMPLOYEES

I know this was mentioned last night but I wasn't able to verify it until today.

I know for a fact that SKYBOOK has fired almost all of their customer service personelle and many other employees as well...

More on this as I gather FACTS...

Dont all books downsize around this time? It seems strange they are giving away a Hummer if they are going anywhere.

Isn't Skybook affiliated with the rx?

Re: JUST CONFIRMED SKYBOOK LET GO MOST OF THEIR EMPLOYEES

I just got a call from someone in UPPER MANAGEMENT from SKYBOOK.COM, so I'd like to present some more facts...

SKYBOOK is confirming that they have indeed let go a number of employees largely because of 2 reasons...

1-It is customary to downsize around this time every year (usually after the SuperBowl)...

2-The primary reason SKYBOOK downsized a tad early was due to slower than normal volume coming into them due to Neteller no longer being a viable payment option...

After hearing all of the facts, I do believe that SKYBOOK is still one of the best sports books in this industry and I TRUST them completely...

They don't advertise here, their owner and I are no longer in touch with one another, but I felt it necessary to clear up this thread and do the right thing...

SKYBOOK can still be TRUSTED, IMHO...

Re: JUST CONFIRMED SKYBOOK LET GO MOST OF THEIR EMPLOYEES

beantown jim, what rating service do you think is better than sbr?
they were about the only ones with a bad grade on bos (d) when it went under (tow, which really pimps out grades had them at 10 even when they were in no-pay mode).
sbr and john have done everything right imho and have gotten me money when nobody else would/could.

MILWAUKEEMIKE I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR SBR BECAUSE JOHN BACKED DOWN ON A CASE I HAD IN WICH A SPORTSBOOK OBVIOUSLY BROKE THERE OWN RULES AND KEPT THE MONEY IN THERE FAVOR.JOHN KNEW THEY WERE WRONG BUT THE GUTLESS BASTARD SOLD ME OUT FOR ADVERTISING MONEY SO EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR A SERVICE THAT IS PAID BY THE SPORTSBOOKS TO ADVERTISE.

WORD OF MOUTH AND ONLY PLAYING WITH THE BIG SHOPS IS THE SAFEST WAY TO GO AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN.NOW I HAVE AN OFFSHORE ACCOUNT WITH AN AGENT AND ITS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.:+music1-6

Shrink, I believe that you need to change the title of this thread! The title in NO WAY is depictive of what is actually happening with this book.

I just made my VERY FIRST bad post report on this thread. So you know that I must be serious that the title is not fair

Yeah,

I trusted them until they started making withdrawals more and more and more difficult.

It is never good when a book ups its limits to $10000+ online, but will only withdraw $2500/day imho.

sorry to hear about that loss beantownjim. i know its impossible not to hold a grudge in a case like that.
but that being said for a newbie i can't think of a better place to start right now than to stick with one of their "a" books - jamaica, 5dimes, vip.

TOW Reporting Skybook was sold

Industry Rrumors circulating on Skybook sportsbook found confirmation in the wee hours of Monday night. "I will no longer be working with Skybook effective Jan 31st" Skybook's main shareholder tells TheOnlineWire.com.

Skybook.com drastically downsized its personnel over the last weekend. "Heads up: Skybook was sold, I do not know the buyer, but only 5 employees left in the building." a former manager confirmed.

Skybook sports book had become the flagship of the Rio Group, merging with the former brands of the group over the last 12 months.

On or about mid-January Skybook unexpectedly cancelled most ads deals (see original report here).

New ownership has yet to come forth. In view of going concerns and waiting disclosure from the new owners Skybook is downgraded from 10 to 6. Players are recommended to proceed with caution until more news become available.

That is NOT ACCURATE...

First off, I have known the REAL OWNER of RIO/SKYBOOK as well as anyone else in this industry for many years...

Secondly, who in their right mind would BUY a sports book at a time like this???!!!

And the person I know would NOT just give it away...

Lastly, the credit side hasn't changed one iota which would definitely happen IF the company were sold...

I am sure the main guy would like to give the appearance that he sold because he has always been a tad on the paranoid side...

Bottom line though is I believe your money is still safe there and they still have the same management UP TOP...

Re: JUST CONFIRMED SKYBOOK LET GO MOST OF THEIR EMPLOYEES

Actually, Roberto has it partially RIGHT...

Let me clarify what I just learned...

As many of you know, RIO/SKYBOOK is mostly a CREDIT SHOP...

Their CREDIT business hasn't changed ownership or control...

However, the POST-UP side of their operation has indeed been sold but they are waiting a couple of weeks before any official announcement is made as to WHO the BUYER is...

Until things are CLEARED UP, I would tread with some caution...

They have NOT handled the PR part of the transition well IMO given that their is much confusion from employees to Upper Management to what shall they leak next...

Like I told wilheim over at the Rx, in this day and age how can you trust anyone. Just because you are reassured does that make you comfortable?

I mean how many were comfortable while playing with Pinny and depositing with NETeller until they pulled out! Weren't they both paying out the week before they pulled out? I transferred money to my NETeller debit card when I was in Vegas on the 15th, thank god, only to find out about their problems when I got back home on the 18th. I just feel lucky my trip wasn't ruined if they decided to pull out a day earlier! I would have had to leave Vegas with no funds in my pocket if they pulled out on the 15th. Fortunately with the funds I withdrew, I got back to even and won some money! Not much, but better than being stuck after the first day there!
