i fit that profile precisely. i was there to give & get book info and found i was only allowed to post or read the info forum mgmt wanted to get posted or read. in the end analysis i guess i could have gotten a bullet point summary of forum mgmt's views upfront (or just surmised their views by looking at their advertiser listing) and saved myself the hassle of trying to read or share ideas on a daily basis.
once the absurdity of that set in, i migrated & have been pleased to find that is not the case here.
plus, there's porn.

Harrington, its nice to see you here. I used to post across the street and find eog to be have a better feel to it.
There is hardly the number of bashers here and there are a number of posters that have years of industry experience.
I never had any issue with the mods there but I will say that the mods here are top notch.
We have a number of different contest here.
I think the major difference is at the top. Shrink is very active here and posts on a number of different subjects from light-hearted to serious. Where as across the street the top guy always was just a bit too serious.
The number of posters posting plays has been increasing, your capping knowledge would be a great addition here.

I had gotten a little frustrated across the street with some of the censorship that would go on there. It felt more run like a "corporation" instead of the days when The Shrink was there. Since then I have grown to respect they have a tough job over there but I have certainly been a lot happier over on EOG.
It has been a revitalizing experience for me here. We have some great contributors on here - you will learn and gain a lot from being a part of EOG. Some good handicappers in all of the sports forums here whom you will not find anywhere else. Some fun contests and an open uncensored atmosphere to discuss anything you need help with. We are lucky to get first-hand info from people like The Shrink who would be on the Mt. Rushmore of offshore gambling if there was one.
Being on EOG feels like how it was for me back in 2000-2001-2002 when I first joined up across the street and in those couple of years really became a sharper gambler from the environment there. Those were some of my best years as a gambler because I went from a recreational square to being sharp. When I joined EOG a year or so ago, it was like a second coming of all that for me. It helped me get back the "eye of the tiger" if you will when things got censored and stale for me across the street.
Even with obstacles I was hit with sometimes, EOG was what kept me in the hunt - a new brotherhood combined with the forces of the old Rx like The Shrink, The General, and others. So it was like a combination of my old glory years with a revitaized attitude and I got a much needed second life from all this which I desperately needed last year if I was to continue onward. It not only led to a winning year in the offshore world last year, but also writing a lot about games that I liked and contributing far more here than I ever did across the street. And I kept it up when I could because I could tell the audience here on EOG appreciated it. In return, I have also learned a lot from others and do my share of "tailing" at times also. But it's all more than that on here - it was more about getting my mindset back and everyone on here is always real supportive when you need it.
Overall, it's a real brotherhood we have on here and it's like one stop shopping for everything. Handicappers with good picks/writeups, info on sportsbooks, the latest developments in whatever the latest crisis is (firsthand from The Shrink and not rumors), a place to blow off steam if you get upset, some good contests, and did I even forget to mention the world famous Arts and Entertainment forum? We got it all here.

If you need to voice your opinion or have a disagreement, as long as it is not a personal attack it can be done here. If you need to know what is up in the industry and need to know it fast, it is here. And if you want photos of naked hot chicks it is here. Where else do you need to be.

I think EOG is a result of all the things THE SHRINK and GENERAL wanted to change or modify over there. Having their own site allowed them to start with a clean slate and make the changes they wanted!
1. Freedom to speak your mind about gambling, books, posters or almost any other issue without the fear of being banned or sensored.
2. The Mods here are not self absorbed. They don't sweat the small stuff and for the most part their feelings aren't easily hurt!
3.THE SHRINK and THE GENERAL are big names in the industry. This allows us to OFTEN have industry news before all the other sites and regardless of what other sites want you to think! The BIG BOYS more often than not go to THE SHRINK first!!
4. We have some really good posters at EOG as they do at many places, but as we know there just aren't as many BASHERS here. I think that is because we""the posters"" police the forum and call out the HATERS!
5. Our main forum is fun! We have serious conversation and plenty of sports info, but you can also have fun with your forum friends. Our specific sports forums are more serious and their are alot of good cappers and plenty of sports info.
6. The General!!! He is at the top of his field!! Always ready to help the posters, sportsbooks and mods. He is the best at what he does.
7. Great group of mods! This is a group of guys who were good posters before they were hired and the fellas behind the senses SHORTBUS and SOS are top notch!
8. Our A/E forum is the best IMO and andrew does a really good job of keeping the photos rolling.
9. Dirty who is the point man for the MODS seems to read every post on the site, watch every news station and every sports program and usually has the info on the board before anyone else. Plus he is fun to party with, I think!
10. The main reason is that THE SHRINK really cares about this site and he also cares about the people who post here! Some folks may say this isn't true, but I spend alot of time with the man and believe me this site and all of you mean ALOT to THE SHRINK! And he throws a GREAT PARTY!!
