Let's push Ecocard onto the books

Since Neteller has now officially left the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on">US</st1:country-region> and N. <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>, for those of us serious about gaming, we need the books to pick up a new processor. I?ve scoured the internet looking at options, and it seems the best one out there right now is http://www.ecocard.com . I?ve heard that they just upgraded their servers last week due to increased visitors. They have been in business since 2000 and I have not heard of any complaints. They are not as convenient as Neteller because you must use a bank wire, but once your money is there, they seem to operate exactly the same. Unfortunately, only a few books use them. I think we should encourage books to start taking them. They are as cheap as neteller and moneybookers and they take US and especially Canadian users. Let?s market ecocard to the books.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Anyways, if you have time, please send an email to as many sportsbooks as possible encouraging them to start using ecocard.com. Below is a list of just about every relevant books email ? feel free to add. <o:p></o:p>

Dear book,<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>
As you know, Neteller has now left the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region> and now more importantly Canadian market. Many of your customers would like to wager with you, but have become accustomed to Neteller?s convenience and probably will not want to start using bank wires, WU, checks, etc to fund accounts. Thankfully, there is a company out there, who has been in business for 7 years and still welcomes US and Canadian residents. This company is http://www.ecocard.com. As someone who has either played at your book or interested in doing so, I ask that you look into accepting this company for money transfers. They have been in business for 7 years and I?ve never heard of any complaints. I am not affiliated with this company ? just seeking a way to move money easily again. If you are not the person who would make these types of decisions, please forward this to the person who would. Thanks a bunch. If you guys start using these guys, I am sure I and many others will likely post up again soon.<o:p></o:p>

Sean -

I like the idea/enthusiam. Unless ecocard is backed by some solid folks and good cash - then the Federales can come down hard on them too.

I would like to see the company state their position (processors in US?), plans to prevent a Neteller repeat scenario?

I'm thinking the gigs up on Neteller/ecocard until the law changes. I wouldn't put a dime through ecocard. Nothing against the company - but rather just looking at the facsts with what happened at Neteller.

:cheers

Re: Let's push Ecocard onto the books

There are some very big differences.

1. The idiots from Neteller came to the US. I like to believe no more payment processors will do so.

2. Neteller was located in the UK and Canada - both parties to US banking treaties and regulations. Ecocard if located in Malta (According to one report I read) and servers are located in Latvia. Neither has firm affiliations with US banking and I cant find anything stating these countries have agreed to US seizures, regulations, etc. Latvia is known for the secrecy of its banking. If you do a google search for Latvia or Malta banking all you get is hits about secrecy and anonimity.

3. The company does not use EFTs and thus will have no funds in the US. Wires go through swift and if the company does not use US intermediaries... (Sure some bank may block one - then you get a new bank)

Anyways, looks good to me.

Re: Let's push Ecocard onto the books

Sean -

Thanks for the info. You've done some good background research. Maybe it will work - I hope so.

We have this Friday's good news coming out too.

Playing baseball is a distant 3rd to "Madlock" and "Murder She Wrote" - so hopefully ecocard is in full swing by NFL time.

:cheers

Re: Let's push Ecocard onto the books

ECO would be good if they ever answer an email. I did a test withdrawal from them 2 months ago for $30 and they sent it to a bank in denmark. When it was returned to me a month later, they kept the $10 fee and i now have $20 sitting in there with no response after about 25 emails. Ive read far more good than bad about them, but my only exp. with them unfortunatly is not a good one.:smokesmal

Re: Let's push Ecocard onto the books

Sean1 and others, while I respect that the intention here is to educate other gamblers, I think starting threads like this and certain websites promoting new processors actually do a disservice to the processors, books and gamblers they intend to help.

We saw what happened with YouTeller. As soon as people started promoting them, they closed down before they even opened.

I can tell you all from first hand experience that the processors I'm dealing with are very skittish and nervous and are being quite clear that they do not want to be advertised. Many will take you on as a merchant only so long as you do not use their name in print or their logo anywhere on the website.

I don't know what the answer is.....Some kind of undergroung processing railroad, lol? I do know that promoting new processors does not seem to be helping anyone though. I want to STRESS that I am not coming down on anyone and not telling anyone what to do, simply throwing out something to think about that I've not seen mentioned yet.

A couple days after the various EcoCard threads started they issued a press release saying they are not intended for gambling purposes and just generally sounding nervous. Maybe it's just a coincidence?

*IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR US LOCATED ECOCARD CUSTOMERS:*

In response to recent publicity about the use of EcoCard for online
gambling purposes EcoCard would like to draw its US located customers
attention to the Terms of Service they have previously agreed to, and in
particular, Section 8 – International Use, which clearly states;

8.1. Recognizing the global nature of the Internet, you agree to comply
with all local rules regarding online conduct and acceptable content.
Specifically, you agree to comply with all applicable laws regarding the
transmission of technical data exported from the country in which you
reside. It is our assumption that international users are signing up for
an EcoCard Account only after determining that opening and maintaining
an EcoCard Account violates no laws or regulations in their respective
country and jurisdiction. If you are an international user, you warrant
that you are violating no law or regulation by your use of EcoCard, and
you indemnify us for any and all liability that might arise from your
use of the Service.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,
EcoCard Team
