ODDSMAKER PICK 5 NCAA FOOTBALL CONTEST



Format


* Each Poster will pick 5 games from Each Saturday’s NCAA Football card (Sides or Totals)
* Each Poster will give a brief write-up of why they like the play
* The Posters will use the Lines Posted in the Contest Thread no later than Thursday of each Week of the NCAA Regular Season. If a Game is off the Board then the Don Best Closing Lines will be used to grade the Contest
* Their will be No even numbers for a Push, all lines will be changed when Posted so each number has a Half point
* All games must be posted by 12 pm EST each Saturday the Contest is held
* All Entries must have the Rotation Number, Game and Spread posted or it will be counted as a Loss. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
* Top 3 in wins Each week is declared the winner
* Tiebreaker will be Total combined Passing Yards in a Marquee game each week
* Any other Issues that arise not in these rules will be decided on by the EOG Moderators and their Decision will be final



How to Enter

* Each Poster Must have 100 Posts at EOG to Enter
* Each Poster Must have a Oddsmaker Account (does not have to be funded) before the Contest deadline of each week
* Email dirty@eog.com with your account number and EOG posting name so we have your account number on file to assist in ease of Payment of Prizes
* Post your plays in The Official Contest Thread in the EOG Contest Section each Week
* The Contest will Last from September 1, 2007 until The Conference Championship week ending on Saturday, December 8, 2007

All Prizes will be In Real Money Accounts with the Required Rollover. If a poster has not made at Least a $25 bet each week of the Contest at Oddsmaker then they will receive only 25% of the Posted Prize money. The Money played must be “Real” money. Free Money is not considered “Real” Money.

Money won in this Contest Can't be used in the Poker Room Until the rollover requirements have been Met

Buffalo gave Penn State more than they expected, but I am sure PSU slept walked through that game with Michigan on deck. Buffalo, although improving is still one of the worst teams in the country, they are always in the bottom ten. Baylor is usually in the bottom too, but only of their conference, which is a pretty good conference by the way. Baylor has no defense, but will they really need it. They have a great offense and will score at least 40 in this game and I don?t see Buffalo keeping up with them at all. Baylor 45-27.

I am glad I waited as it was 9.5 last time I looked. This is another typical BYU team who will play in many shootouts this year, leading to many 48-40 types of wins and losses. Air Force playing with a ton of confidence right now starting out 3-0 and winning two conference games already. I think they will get their first loss in this one, but I am not going to pass up a confident, 3-0 team vs a defense like BYU?s. This reminds me of one of those seesaw games with Byu leading one moment and then Air Force another?just keeps going back and forth. Air Force has the better defense as well in this one. I was almost going to jump on BYU because Air Force looks too easy, but I like the fact the money is coming in on BYU.

After Dave Wannstedt ruined the fish, he turned it over to Nick Saben, who abandoned the team once he realized he made a huge mistake and should of stayed at the college level where he belongs. That brings me to my Bama pick. Bama showed a lot with the come from behind win vs Arkansas. I think Saben has this tide team believing they can win again and I think they can. I have never been a big Georgia fan either. They seem like they should always have a great team, and they always lose some games they should not. It is very hard to go against them ?between the hedges?, but once they go outside those hedges, they can be had. My gut tells me Bama makes a statement in this one and win much easier than expected.

Michigan has owned Penn State, especially at the Big House. Penn State has been slightly down for a few year and are finally getting back into the elite teams in the nation. This is the year they will finally beat Michigan. Penn State has better offense, better defense?better players. The only thing favoring Michigan is history and home field. It won?t be enough Saturday as PSU finally beats Michigan 27-17.

Connecticut is 3-0 but has not played anybody and Pitt?s two wins came against nobodies as well and they lost to their only decent team they faced. Pitt could of and should of, been blown out last week. Mich State stopped themselves. Connecticut always seems to give Pitt headaches as well for reason. Pitt is the better team, but the better team does not always win?.or at least cover. I am a Pitt fan and you will see me go against this Wannstedt led team more than I am on them. The only thing coach Dave is good for is making an offense play way under it potential. Pitt by 4.?..with a chance of them losing outright here.

South Carolina at LSU- Great game in which we will learn a little more about both squads. Is LSU really that good? Or is this an overreaction to Miss St, Va Tech and Midd Tenn? How about SC? Will their offense be able to put any points on the board against this LSU defense? They only managed 16 at Georgia. Bottom line here is if you go over the last 20 or so South Carolina games, you won't find them being on the wrong side of any lopsided scores. Instead you'll find wins over Arkansas, Florida, Clemson, Georgia and close games with Tennessee and Auburn. It's a competitive team with a solid defense and a bunch of starters from last years team. Can't ignore all those points. South Carolina +16.5

Air Force at BYU - Not so sure the right team is favored here. BYU has had the upper hand in this series the last three years but this series has not been a lopsided one over the years with both teams having their share of wins against each other. 3-0 Air Force obviously improved this year while BYU is down a notch. Let's see, Air Force beat Utah, Utah destroyed UCLA, UCLA beat BYU. If nothing else, that tells us Air Force can play with BYU with an upset not out of the question. Air Force +11.5

Iowa at Wisconsin - Expected more from both squads. Wisky still undefeated but giving up 31 points to Citadel? Iowa Losing to Iowa State? Both teams loaded minus QB's from a year ago. Wisconsin figures to be the more talented but hasn't shown it yet. Last year was a 3 point game and the series in general fairly tight as of late. One more time. Iowa +8.5

Kentucky at Arkansas - The questionable status of Mcfadden makes this tough to call. This kid is going to be one hell of an NFL back some day. Bama couldn't stop him when the whole stadium knew he was getting the ball! But Kentucky is on a roll. They have won 8 of their last 9 with the sole loss being by 5 points. They are a program on the rise and in a game that figures to see plenty of points scored, gotta take the touchdown. Kentucky +7.5

Penn State at Michigan - Tough to gauge either team at this point. Penn State whipped three patsies. We all know what Michigan's done. Both teams whipped Notre Dame. No accomplishment there. This week we get a better idea of what both teams are all about. Both teams should be able to move the Ball as both teams have some weakness on defense. Buffalo was able to move the ball on Penn State in the 2nd half last week. So this could shape up as an interesting, exciting game. Big time chance for Michigan to regain some respect and save their season. Michigan +3.5

Total mismatch game and it all depends on how soon will florida rest the starters. I look for this spread to be covered in the 1st half.

Ga Tech came off an disappointing loss last week to Boston College and will take this out on a terrible Virginia team. I would give up to 7 pts but the -3.5 is more than needed.

I look for Bowling Green to Cover the over in this game alone. Any points contributed by Temple is a bonus!
