AIM chat users do you trust (Use) the AOL auto pop-up updates?

I reformatted the machine, downloaded AIM and now I am receiving a pop-up atop the clock asking for me to download a security update for AIM, which is the only thing I use involving AOL I think. Quite a bit of AOL services in the program files out of the box. Should I allow the updates? Thanks for any assistance if you are familiar.

Yes... they are safe... I hate AOL and the AIM is the only thing I use and it is because the others who work here have it....I prefer MSN Messenger to any of them.... I use the Pop up all the time...
