March Madness Office Pool is Still a Top Betting Item<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
San Jose, Costa Rica ? Online sports and Live Dealer gaming website LazerWager.com
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 16, 2008
It?s called March Madness for a reason. 41% of Americans and more than 58 million U.S. workers are college basketball fans. With March upon us, the NCAA Basketball tournament is weeks away and just about everyone is watching the games a little closer while trying to find their sleeper, or Cinderella team. Researchers found that 27% of American employees participate in March Madness office pools. The majority of these workers are men, as only 8% of American women have participated in the workplace pool. Surveys show that almost half of them spend at least 30 minutes at work to fill out their brackets. With bracket pools ranging from $5 to $25 per person, office pools are now worth an incredible $2.5 billion dollars!
That?s an incredible number considering that Vegas expects between $80 and $90 million to be bet on the College games in Nevada. According to news reports, Americans wager between $2.5 billion and $3.5 billion on the NCAA tournament via online Sportsbooks. ?Besides Super Bowl week, this is easily the busiest time of year for our office,? said Dan Del Gato, Director of Operations at LazerWager.com. ?We?re offering plenty of deposit bonuses for the games, including a sweet 16% reload bonus to our current players and reduced -108 juice on the Elite 8 games.?

The College Conference Tournaments tip off on March 4, with the winners earning automatic bids into the 64-team March Madness Tournament that begins on March 16 with Selection Sunday. CBS.com is capable of handling up to 300,000 viewers to watch video streams of games online at any given time, and their target audience is office workers. Last year, college-basketball related Web traffic was heaviest during the first week of the tournament, when 7.9 million people logged on to the top Web sites. According to the Chicago-based Challenger, Gray and Christmas Inc., American companies will lose approximately $3.8 billion dollars in lost productivity due to the NCAA tournament. That number is calculated from 58 million workers spending an average of 13.5 minutes online for each of the 16 business days of action. With the average wage at $18 per hour, those 13.5 minutes cost companies $4.05. With high-speed Internet access common in many offices, the urge to keep tabs on favorite teams is becoming more difficult to resist.

Bosses understand is that they have employees who care about March Madness and are going to be paying attention to the games whether or not it?s allowed. Most companies compromise with their employees, allowing bracket pools and tournament talk in the office as long as no work gets neglected, no client gets ignored, and no job goes undone. When employees clock out of the office, they head home to pick up the late action. On average, 7.6 million households are tuned in during each telecast, and each telecast lasts about 2.5 hours. It all adds up to 494 million hours of television. With 64 games played and two possible results for each game, the total number of possible outcomes for the tournament is 18,446,744,073,709,551,616!

The point isn't if they are- or are NOT- going to pay, but rather, IF they pay in full albiet 8 weeks late, they have shown they are in for the long-term and walked the extra mile for their players, who should then have no issue trusting them.

Also, as far as they paying with payouts goes, makes no sense accoring to the master minds on this forum...Many people say they ONLY HAVE around 50 player accounts, if you honestly agree that they only have that many players after an entire NFL season, how many could they get from March Madenss...NOT enough to make any payouts. If they payout, its from the investors accounts.

Re: Stay away from Spamming LazerWager....

Ironhorse has some connection to them.

I don't think Lazer guys are crooks in the truest sense of the term... get some deposits and steal some money.

I think they are bad businessmen that lost their limited start up funds and players' post up money to overhead expenses, and show a loss of their own funds when they pull the plug on the place.

Most new books are of that sort.

I call it the three "P"s of booking.

Piss Poor Planning.

Re: Stay away from Spamming LazerWager....

If you go by what they say in their Press Releases, you'd think they were rock solid as Pinnacle or Bet Jamaica financially

Don't be surprised to see another flood of disgruntled RX'ers coming over here in the VERY near future: Wil is getting stressed and is back putting down and downright insulting some of the better posters over there

I had this very conversation today when I was talking to LazerWager. I said I would like to post something positive for those waiting but it is always a losing effort because of posts like Dougs.

Nothing new.

To anyone owed funds by LazerWager believe who want. All I will say is all of the Rx moderators who have posted in this thread are trying to keep as up to date as possible on real developments by communicating with the management at LW.

I will post again when the players I am helping get their checks.

How come you did not post my reply?

Imagine that, a stiff book in a no pay situation and everyone's being so god damn negetive? Don't post anything negetive in these threads or the book won't pay people? I undertand to a certain exstant, but come on. If they don't have the money, they don't have the money and we are to shut up so they can steal from someone else to pay the other's? that's makes sence..

SCAM Alert: LazerWager (SBR rating D-) marketing to new players it cannot pay
LazerWager continues to market to new players and acknowledges that if a player hits a big parlay they will have to wait for investors to fund the sportsbook before being paid. LazerWager management maintains that delinquent accounts will be current in mid April. LazerWager's most recent marketing campaign included a phony press release offering Paris Hilton a job for $100,000, $20,000 less than the estimated amount owed to bettors.

There was a plan and now we need see if they follow thru..

Re: Stay away from Spamming LazerWager....

The plan was to have Paris Hilton be a celeb dealer. Paris could not be taught to count to 21, so the deal fell thru.

Lazer is working with another young rising Hollywood starlet, to help bring in some new clients.

I have not heard that anything happened that I was told when I made the above post about their plan so I guess they decided not to send in the cash infusion. I hope to hear something, but they are under no obligation to do anything for me.

Re: Stay away from Spamming LazerWager....

All jokes aside what is happening to the people waiting is a crime, pure and simple

How can a book not pay out for months on end but have enough money to totally change the look of the website and still accept deposits?

Re: Stay away from Spamming LazerWager....

Any reason it would cost a bunch to change the site ?
