Did Bush lie under oath in funeral home case? | page 1, 2 <CONTENT>May's attorneys believe the controversy should intensify the call for Bush to testify. "Obviously the statement of Johnnie B. Rogers in Newsweek indicates that [Bush] knew more than he's letting on about this case," said May's attorney, Derek Howard. "This is all the more reason to have him deposed."
May's lawsuit alleges she was fired because her department's investigation got too close to discovering illegal embalming practices by SCI. Bush has received $35,000 in campaign contributions since 1996 from SCI's political action committee, and Waltrip is an old friend and benefactor of the Bush family.
A hearing has been set for Aug. 30 in the Travis County Courthouse in Austin to decide if Bush must testify in the case.
The funeral home flap presents the first real test for Bush's high-flying presidential campaign. Earlier stories about his draft status seem to have fallen by the wayside, and the persistent rumors about his rambunctious youth have proven to be nothing more than gossip to date.
But these allegations represent something different. It can't be good news to the Bush campaign that Isikoff, the reporter who first dug up the name Monica Lewinsky, is on the case. The word around Austin is that "60 Minutes" is beginning to get interested in the story.
Meanwhile, the silence out of Austin is deafening. The normally gregarious Rogers has apparently been muzzled, and is not speaking to the media. He told Salon News that all questions about the matter should be referred to SCI spokesman Bill Miller.
Neither Bush's campaign press team nor his gubernatorial press

Re: funeral gate

Did Bush lie under oath in funeral home case?

The answer is again there is no proof -- just speculation and conjecture as usual from the far left political opponents of Bush, Salon.com

Re: funeral gate

Nicolas ... great news for your ass: By federal law (10 U.S.C., 505), the minimum age for enlistment in the United States Military is 17 (with parental consent) and the maximum age is 35 (Note: Congress changed this to age 42 in 2006). However, DOD policy allows the individual services to specify the maximum age of enlistment based upon their own unique requirements. The individual services have set the following maximum ages for non-prior service enlistment: Active Army - 42: https://secure.military.com/leads/Recruiting/Army_Recruiting_DVD.htm?ESRC=ggl_rec_armydvd.kw Army Reserves (Including National Guard) - 42 Active Air Force - 27 Air Force Reserve (inlcuding National Guard) - 34 Active Navy - 34 Naval Reserves - 39 Active Marines - 28 Marine Corps Reserve - 29 Active Duty Coast Guard - Age 27. Note: up to age 32 for those selected to attend A-school directly upon enlistment (this is mostly for prior service). Coast Guard Reserves - Age 39.
