I would say the 70's or 80's....the 90's seen the move towards 60 minute Dramas and shit

I'd say when NBC had all the big sitcoms - Seinfeld, Cheers, Night Court, Cosby Show, Family Ties, etc. And Fox had Married With Children then also.

Another great memory of comedy television from the 1960s were the comedy variety shows, such as The Red Skelton Show and The Jackie Gleason Show.

The Munchkin Man's favorite of the two was The Jackie Gleason Show.

The Munchkin Man was especially fond of his "Joe The Bartender" skits, which featured Frank Fontaine as the unforgettable Crazy Guggenheim:

survivor was good for about a month, and then it just continued to get worse.

Agree with Munchkin Man. I wish some bigwig at TVLAND would put McHales Navy and Ftroop back on. Those were great. No such thing as good comedy anymore. Although Two and a Half Men is pretty good.

taxi ran longer in the 80's than it did in the 70's so its kinda both....but for classic comedies, i think the 70's wins it, when u consider shows like MASH, All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, BobNewhart, Carol Burnett, Sanford and Son, Maude, Good Times, and many more.....

the 80's were solid as well though, with the emergence of Cosby, FamilyTies, Cheers, Golden Girls, who's the Boss, Murphy Brown, DesigingWomen, and many more

60's are my second choice, it would be nice if they aired more of them.

There's a Get Smart movie coming out....about 35 years later !
