Should a Vote Be Taken?

With all the comments about AGWB's post counts, should a vote be taken among forum members (mods included) to impose a maximum post count per day?

Several members including myself have tried to speak with him about his abnormally high post count, but still he continues to plaster the political forum. It is not the content of his posts that is upsets me personally, it is the volume of posts he generates.

What limits should be imposed? How many posts a day does the average person make? Does it hurt the forum to impose limits, or does it help it?

Re: Should a Vote Be Taken?

I'm unaware of this chatter. :+clueless

Why does it matter how much whoever wants to post?

Re: Should a Vote Be Taken?

As long as the thread is interesting I have no problem. It's when there is a nonsense question thread being asked something to that nature that wastes time and space.

DIGGIN...........

DOC MERCER IS A LUNATIC.......IF YOU POST A REPLY TO SOMETHING AND GO AWAY FOR A FEW HOURS, YOU HAVE TO LOOK ON PAGE 2 OR 3 TO SEE IF SOMEONE ANSWERED YOU.......

THE POLITICAL FORUM IS PRETTY MUCH A ONE MAN SHOW..........IF YOU LOOK AT THE VIEWS HE GETS..............MOSTLY LESS THAN 10 PER THREAD..........YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN............

ONCE IN A WHILE, EVEN IN THE MAIN FORUM HE POSTS SOMETHING WORTH RESPONDING TO, MANY, MANY PEOPLE DON'T LIKE BUSH OR CHENEY BUT HE TAKES IT TO A LEVEL OF SHEER STUPIDITY..............

The Porn Room is also a One Man Show with Montana .. I guess that
would mean Montana would have to limit his posts also in that
forum also-

I contribute more in substance in one day than you contribute in
10 yrs and I dont start the personal attacks ... yesterday showed
it as BatemanPatrick does nothing but show up to attack posters
like myself for speaking the truth on the lies and corruption of this
current administration ... his posts are like those of a 6 yr old and
well ... shit did happen

Diggin ... sorry ... a lot to talk about right now and dont mean to
piss ya off Partner so my apologies to ya

Re: Should a Vote Be Taken?

Sorry Diggin, you missed on this one. A posting limit goes against EOG's money, for any rule applied to Anti would necessarily need to be applied across the board. I believe that website traffic somehow factors into how EOG get's paid by advertisers. There is at least a possibility that a posting limit would have a detrimental effect on traffic. I don't want to disillusion anyone, but the political forum just about means "ugots" to EOG; we are not anywhere near the moneyzone. They would not ever take the possible money hit merely to "clean" up the political forum. The more likely action would be to eradicate the political forum if our bellyaches become more trouble than they're worth. . . .

Re: Should a Vote Be Taken?

I remember bringing up maximizing daily/weekly post count a year or two ago with a different poster but it did not fly. It's not something I see us being able to vote on or doing anything about. You can always put the ignore feature on if you feel it's excessive and taking away from seeing what else you need to.

The Munchkin Man proposes that a multi-modal therapeutic approach, one which actively combines compassion, mercy, and forgiveness, be administered and implemented for poor AGWB.

In addition to his Bipolar Disorder, he also suffers from one of the same afflictions as the Munchkin Man does -- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

It is this cluster of psychiatric disorders, combined with his lack of medication, which contributes to his manic pattern of excessive posts.

The Munchkin Man would like to encourage him to seek treatment for these disorders and receive the medications he so desperately needs.

In the meantime, the Munchkin Man proposes that he be allowed to continue to post as much as he wants to and to his heart's content, provided that he keeps his personal attacks in check and within the boundaries of EOG posting standards of decorum and etiquette.

As delusional and outrageous as his conspiracy theories and rabid Bush bashings may be, he really isn't hurting anybody.

Laugh at him.

Perhaps, pity him.

Let him post away and continue to provide a source of entertainment for the fraternity of posters at EOG.

For those who do not find him entertaining, simply ignore him.

In addition, the Munchkin Man will continue to pray for him.
