An interesting comment. I have subscriptions to two of the services mentioned in this thread, and just tried yours. On pinnacle at least (who I use as a barometer when testing these things), Lines Mover is second fastest, but still some 2-3 seconds behind the faster one.

You will find the same Pinny situation with the other books. Sometimes the competition are a bit faster and sometimes we are a bit faster.

Reason: All Lines, for all sports, are checked continuously. Takes a lot of milliseconds, or whatever the tech guys call it, to process.

Also: Pinny lines are automated. They actually move on the money placed within their system. Of note only to point that Pinny lines move more than most books. MatchBook runs a close second.

Although I am not an attorney, I have spoken to my fair share of them over the years...

Once a sports book displays it odds ANYWHERE ONLINE, the legal question is whether or not that is considered PUBLIC INFORMATION...

IF it is considered to be PUBLIC INFORMATION, than LEGALLY, I believe anyone has the right to grab the lines whether the proprietor likes it or not...

As far as MORALITY, well that's an entirely different argument...

One thing that we all have in common is that we are simply information disseminators. Information comes from many different sources, some of which we have relationships with and some we don’t.

Whether the source likes it or not, G&J is allowed to use information from the public domain.

(In other words - what Shrink said!)

Actually, I was wondering how can GJ access Cris so much x number of times every minute so the lines on their screens are up to date. If they use the same IP Cris can ban it, cant they?

Yes, they can ban an IP, but there are plenty of ways to collect information.

However G&J gets the information, it seems to be pretty reliable.

Considering this environment and the fierce competition, it would be fair to say he brought his "A" game with him...

I realize that SO is affiliated with the place I founded but it is long overdue that we bury the hatchet and move forward...

Obviously, TheRx will always have a special place in my heart and Rick and I have a very long history of working together to try and make a small difference in this industry...

I look forward to doing the right thing henceforth and I apologize for my part in the dispute...:cheers

Only 2 services will emerge from the smoke, and I think everyone is going to be suprised at who those 2 are.

1-DON BEST- Figures to be the one to catch. They experienced growing pains with Linesmaker, but they have everyone's attention. Their interface is arguably the best of the lot as gamblers have become accustomed to this design ever since the pioneer days.

2-GJ UPDATE- It's amazing to me what Mike, Sonny and Gino have built. They give customer service a new meaning as I appreciate their hands on, professional mannerism when dealing with customers. They appear to have figured out how to position themselves well in this heated environment. And should all hell break out, they may gain the most...

3-SPORTS OPTIONS- Rick and his crew deserve credit. Their injury reports are arguably the fastest of the top 3. He's been down this path before with #1 and figures to give DON BEST a run for their money. He is undercutting the competition by offering a quality product at half the price.

***LONGSHOT- LINESMOVER- not a lot to go on as of now. I will report back after a thorough review. Rightfully so, they appear to be trying to stay out of the way of the seasoned pros, but can they do that and still gain a sizable piece of the market? Very choppy waters ahead for them. We will soon see if they can swim...

SORT OFF REMINDS OF THE BATTLE FOR THE RIGHTS TO THE VEGAS SPORTS SCHEDULES IN THE LATE 70'S BETWEEN JIM FIEST ANF THE JK SPORTS SCHEDULE......

FIEST EVENTUALLY WON AND JK SPORTS SCHEDULE BECAME OBSOLETE.

You're wasting a lot of time replying to Jeff Jones. He wouldn't use your line service unless it was free. You notice he mentioned Covers in one of his previous posts. He just likes to argue and ask questions to have something to do.

I had my reservations....
But he had a couple of very good questions. One in particular was,
"How does a subscriber ever know if he receiving a true "live line?"

And also, there are currently 11,785 guests on EOG that are unable to ask questions. So the more questions the better.

ok guys i have been moving lines for around 9 years in Costa Rica, we were under the donbest monopoly for so many years that nobody expected the problems that we had for a while with this linetracker, g&jupdate thing...

a lot of my friends, even with more experience than me, agree in this, this could be just a market strategy to have people using donbest & linetracker at the same time, and with all this we realize that we need something better for us, the customers, we need good service, good info, fast, and i think right now the only good services available are donbest and linesmover, they have the best books in the industry, accurate scores and information

without a monopoly, we now have professional people looking for the best to succeed in this business.

so my vote goes to donbest and linesmover. they are used the most by the sportsbooks. the two are the most trusted.

well yes i tried sportsoption, i think is a great product as well, but at the end is the boss who has the last decision, and it wasnt in the finals, but sure i would like to try it again

Haven't checked this thread too much because as a smaller bettor, not really beneficial to me to use a line service.

But looking thru the thread this morning, lots of great opinions and nice to see those in charge of these services participating in this thread and well as some new posters :cheers
