Up until around age 30 I would without a doubt throw the wallet out and keep the cash - now I would without a doubt return the money and turn down any reward - God would curse me with bad karma and I'd pay for it somewhere down the road - I guess if it was a mil things would be different - but what is a 1000 dollars really going to do for me? - nothing other than I waste it on something meaningless - but then you do have the whole escort aspect

Now let's be honest. If money was found and there was no id in it or nothing was located that could identify a possible owner then I would keep it. I know what happens when money is turned in, the city keeps it, you don't get it.

I screw up carelessly with money or tickets during football season sometimes. Lots o' money in those cargo shorts of mine. Sometimes a little does fall out. Have yet to see a gambler or a Las Vegas sportsbook manager ever not return it, even hours later.
I've been in such a rush sometimes that I pay for tickets, and forget to grab them. They give me the tickets the next day.
The sportsbook screws up; we fix it. I screw up; we fix it. Nobody is foaming over finding somebody's wallet.

I would no doubt return it with all its contents in it.
One trip to vegas, I found 500 bucks in the hallway of the MGM Grand. I was on my floor, so I figured it had to be from somebody on our floor.
I went to the front desk and told them about the incident. There was nothing else with the cash, just 5 hundred dollar bills.
I found it the first or second night there and was there for 6 nights. Anyway, the front desk manager told me to hold onto the money and he would call me if anybody called about it. He never called and when I checked out I double checked, and nobody had mentioned it.
I felt horrible but they told me there was nothing more to do but keep the money. The manager told me jokingly(kinda) that he or myself one would keep the cash. I figured it might as well be me then.
I still felt bad but somebody was probably hammered and dropped it and never even knew. They probably thought they dropped the cash at the roulette table.
