Should we allow ALL picks to be posted here if gamblers wish to post them inside this forum?

I know this forum is by far the most active on EOG...

I am wondering if we should allow anyone to post picks in here if they wish to since these selections will be seen by the most eyeballs?

If our purpose is to be helpful, then before I get shot down, why is this a bad idea?

I know it will clutter up this forum, but does the overall good outweigh the negative?

Easy Answer

No

If someone feels as if they have a really strong play NOW AND THEN I can see it, but not all daily or all of the time.

Problem with that is then you have the complete board thinking they have a "strong play" and everyone begins doing it.....

But alot of the other stuff that belongs in arts and entertainment clutter up the forum now so maybe it should be a open forum where anything goes

I think it's better if picks are in the sports forums. We end up getting too many of these "Here's an easy winner for a game and thank me later" threads in the main forum. People who want to find picks will find them and the good cappers on here will get noticed regardless of what forum it is in.

Obviously some subjectivity is involved and some posters should occasionally be allowed to post a pick in this forum. It's just the attention-whore people who need to get use to posting in the sports forums more. If a game coming up wants to be -discussed- where thoughts are -asked- for, then this forum works well for that if needed also.

NO! Because with everyone creating new treads for non-gambling stuff and adding in picks threads you will then have to search 3-4 pages deep to see everything.

It doesn't take but 30 seconds to click on the NBA, NFL, MLB...etc forums button and have a look at what is going on there.

no....if they are posted here, there will be no reason for us to have the sports forums....and while they may not be as active, there are posters who only hang out there cuz they get SPORTS ONLY....they may not take the time to have to hunt for picks threads, and which sports they are interested in, in the main room and give up......

Big Play yes, daily plays no. I think doing it the way it is will only increase traffic to the picks forum by the time foots comes.

Get a good guy like mo in there and you will find other gems when grouped together.

Like this idea somewhat but if the sports forum were to expand and get busy, the sports forum should be the place to go imo. It will grow during football season and hopefully, for EOG, lots of discussion will happen.

I think now, myself and others, post in the main forum not so much for attention but for discussion.

This type of discussion should be moved sooner or later,

Yeah, I like the idea of one thread for discussion of everyones picks. If I participate on an "in-game" thread on a certain day, I usually put my picks in that to compare my plays with others play and see who's rooting with me/against me, ect....

Not trying to get in a pissing match but get some good guys in the sports forum and they will come.

Now too slow, one thread is good. It'll change to sports forum in August whether I like it or not. Whether it's broken in now or August is your decision.

The picks forums HAVE picked up of late, thanks to guys like Gyno, Mo, Crazytrain, Harvey and others

I expect some real good discussion and some real sharp capping once football season approaches

you should change that to Other Discussions..

This is a subject that seems to get brought up each time it starts "getting out of hand" with numerous posters wanting to post picks in the Main Forum.

I even began a thread each day for EVERYONE to post their plays in so they'd be in one single thread and wouldn't clog up Main Street - it lasted all of about 4 days because I guess it didn't give the attention-seekers enough attention 2938u4ji23

It just makes no sense to allow picks to be posted in this main section of the forum.

If that's the case, then we may as well do away with all of the NFL, NBA, MLB and other sections.

Besides, there would be so many threads in here everyone's would get pushed back to pages 2, 3, 4, and so on, with many never even being seen........

I intend to post the link to my NFL picks column in here - obviously because it will get the most traffic here. If, however, if is not popular, then I would understand if it was moved to the NFL forum specifically. But, if people are looking at it or other stuff in here - it's "player's talk" so leave it where they "talk."
